To be furious at these people for not strapping their daughter in to the car?

The other day I was driving my son and his friend to school when we we had to stop because a car was in the middle of the road, obviously picking someone up. Woman came out of house with little girl (approx 6) who she let into the back. I was waiting for her to strap the girl in but she just closed the car door and got in to the front. The little girl then proceeded to kneel up on the back seat and wave to us (in the manner I used to in the 80's before the rear seatbelt law was put in place!) all along the road until they turned off. I couldn't believe my eyes.....

Even if you let your child put their own seatbelt on, and didn't notice that they hadn't, you would notice they were kneeling on the seat and waving out of the back window wouldn't you?

maybe she was flustered about stopping and holding up the traffic. Hope she straps up every other time, it really annoys me to see drivers being so careless about their childrens safety.

YABU -are you dead because you weren't restrained in the back.Butt out!!

Yes I probably would, I was big facetious and I apologise. It was more to make the point that I doubt you would see parents of a child that age actually plumbing them in to their seats themselves.

Wotnochocs - me (and most of my generation) not being catapulted out of the front windscreen is probably more down to luck than judgement. My point is that we are all better informed/educated these days(thinking about the crash test dummy videos here)about what can happen if a child is not strapped in so in this day and age, I can't understand why you wouldn't do it.

when I say you, I don't mean YOU wotnochocs - just people in general!
