I'm 'friends' with my MP on facebook.

she's just posted "X urges constituents to get flu vaccine".

One of her fellow 'friends' has written:
"I am worried the govt. puts chemicals in the vaccine to keep the population docile/suppress rebellious thought. I know that you would not know or support this X but who knows what some secret lab is up to deep in the English countryside???????????????"

I'm hopeful that this is a joke.

I once worked for someone who had a theory that vaccinations secretly put in little readable chips, like you do with dogs and cats.

Psychommead · 21/10/2010 10:37

Who needs chips when we all have Tesco's clubcards? Grin

DomesticG0ddess · 21/10/2010 10:37

Well, I would prefer to clean my teeth with fluoride toothpaste.

ha ha, I'm off the matrix - no clubcard for me! or do you think nectar cards count too? [hgrin]

kveta all card data is processed by the same alien super brain company. Apart from River Island's card - that's in control of the rebel forces. I know because that crazy bag they had in the 90s was actually code.

I found a forum once full of people who believed that certain areas are being sprayed with chemicals using aeroplanes. This can be seen every day - when the vapour trail lingers in the sky, it's nothing to do with the weather or atmospheric conditions, it's a poisonous cocktail of chemicals (if you believe them, that is!).

Apparently (and isn't it usually the case when a post starts with "apparently" it's a load of bollocks?) we are being sprayed with stuff that decreases fertility, increases cancer rates, and certain areas of USA have been subject to biological warfare testing. Millions of people have been affectd Hmm.

It's quite convincing stuff when you read it.

It's convincing because it's almost impossible to debunk. If the government says it's not true, they are lying. If they ignore it, they are covering it up. How can you prove anything not to be true if lack of evidence is treated as being evidence in itself?

Doigthebountyeater · 21/10/2010 10:54

Well, whatever pacifying chemicals they are putting in the water supply are not enough for me and the DCs. We are all mental nutcases [hgrin]

I wonder if this experiment has already been done. That is, start a totally nonsense conspiracy theory like, eerrr, television screens emit a type of radiation which acts as a muscle relaxant and thus makes us more liable to sit in front of it and watch adverts etc. Make websites, mock experts who say it aint so, invent evidence etc and then after a few years, tell your followers that you made it all up.

I bet they would keep on believing anyway.
