DS is currently like a cross between a rabid puppy and damien from the omen. He looks so cute but is spending most of his time rolling on the floor, foaming at the mouth, making guttoral noises, hitting us, pinching us, "I pinch you mummy". Yes he has just had a baby sister.born, yes, I know its a phase and his age, yes I am playing with him and giving him mummy time but seriously I have no control what so ever. It is so bad even my family are giving me withering looks of pity. Am I just supposed to lock the doors and hibernate until he is 3? All advice gratefully received as always.

YANBU I have two of them at the moment one isn't even 18mths but is coping everything his 27mth old brother is doing, I have DC3 due in 2.5 weeks so pretty sure thats one of the reasons for it.
No real advice though, I turned my dining room into a completly child-proof play room with stairgates so I can see through and if they get to much I stick them in there to play for 10mins so mummy can stop herself from screaming calm the situation down.

rpickett · 17/10/2010 21:23

that should say copying

Hibernate until he is 3?! My DS1 was a truly terrible 2 year old and then became three times as bad when he hit 3!!

No advice, but oodles of sympathy Smile

BetsyBoop · 17/10/2010 21:39

guess this is not the time to mention the even-more-terrible-threes... Grin

rpicket I really could not cope with 3 under 3! DH kindly offers to invite his mother down everytime I reach breaking point. I am too scared to go to the supermarket, ds hasn't slept since birth and it's getting to the point where I am struggling with anger so much I have a permanent look of anxiety on my face.

I feel like getting a sign made to go round my neck for all friends, family and general sticking.their nose in onlookers to see saying "I am not a bad mother, really I'm not, he is just resistant to any form of discipline"

Kids are a nightmare FULL STOP. I take my hat off to anyone coping with 3. We have 2 and tis full on. The oldest has had a fever all week, and DH has to take more time off work - me on Tuesday again. And the baby is teething and has a cold...........nights are a fragmented between DS2 wanting more milk and DS1 having a fever and wanting to get his bird out of the car at 3am.............

Anyhoo here's to a better night ........

mooncupflowethover · 17/10/2010 21:49

Much worse Grin. The first thing I think about when I open my eyes is how long is it until they go to bed!

smugtandemfeeder · 17/10/2010 21:52

ggirl I regularly take him to my grandmas house, she has there acres of garden and I yet to get him to frolick in the field looking for rabbits, pick apples in the orchard, running chasing blah blah. what does he want to do? sit in my sodding car trying to put car keys in lock, press every button, snap every stick control, then spent rest of day rolling on the floor, screaming when we tried to remove keys, encourage him to do anything else. I end up resorting to things I do not want to do like chocolate biscuits, cbeebies, fruitshoots, smacks on bum, oh the shame!

go for it STF there is a LOT to be said for Cbeebies and it's ilk

Ive just spent the weekend from hell with family. Auntie pointed at ds and newborn-who-does-nothing-but-coo and asked my cousins whether they would like one like ds or one like dd. Cue raucous laughter.

I have been consoling myself that it cannot get worse.

Am I confined to a life of soft play centers and Mr sodding tumble? I cannot take any more Mr tumble.

anything that keeps them amused

Stinkyoldclottedcatspus · 17/10/2010 23:34

terrible twos,
Awful threes,
Foul fours,
Flipping awful fives,
scary sixes,
Shitty sevens,
Evil eights,
Nasty nines,
Troublesome tens......
Shall I go on?
Wink
