To think that some posters are treated unfairly

I have read 2 posts in AIBU this week.

Both were about needing help from family and not getting it. One had a cold and she wanted someone to look after her DS for about an hour and she got FLAMED for it.

Yet another poster needed her family to look after DC's so she could go out with her husband and the replies she got were much more sympathetic.

Why does one poster get flamed and the other doesn't?

I don't understand that.

I think people read the OP without actually reading between the lines...

I completely understood where the OP was coming from and I also gave her the opinion that she cannot have that expectation all the time...

but I could also see the frustration and I was right... her family are generally not that helpful.

You can give information/opinions without being disrespectful, rude or flaming anyone.

OP, I actually said as much on the second thread.

IIRC, and I read both OPs, there was about the same level of expectation, but perhaps more emotion in the first as she was feeling like death warmed up.

We have all been there and the replies she got were tbh, disgusting.

MN isn't one entity, is it? It's formed of lots of different people with different opinions, so you probably won't get the same replies to asking the same question twice.

That's what I like about MN, you get the answers you get, depending on who's online, not depending on what you want to hear.
