To think that aswell as looking good my reasonably expensive bedside drawers should be able to hold clothes without dropping to bits constantly?

And needing super gluing again and again and again. They are about to go flying through the bedroom window very shortly Angry.

Putting in 15 light weight tops is not over filling a large drawer, no? All my jumpers and heavy tops are hung in my wardrobe. this is light summer vests we are talking.

Unfortunatly the eejit I live with bought the drawers almost a year before we moved in, so they were past their guarentee before they were filled and thus dropped to bits.

YANBU - drives me crazy when stuff like that happens. Spending money on proper wooden furniture is the only way to avoid it happening unfortunately...

You can buy some fixings (they look like little white plastic blocks with screw holes in) that will strengthen the drawers. I sympathise, I have a similar weakness for nice-to-look-at-but-rarely-does-the-job Alessi kitchenware Blush.

might be worth talking to trading standards. think that regardless of how long something is guaranteed for, they still have to be fit for purpose and depending what it is it can be up to 5-7 yrs...

for example, if you bought a cheapie kettle from the pound shop there would be different expectations of how long it would last and what it would do when compared with an expensive kettle that you'd got from somewhere like John Lewis and paid £50-£100 for IYSWIM.

Think there is also a consumer helpline that is supposed to help with this sort of stuff. Try looking on moneysavingexpert.com, they have people that know more about this sort of thing!

Hmm, I might talk to trading standards. I have used a super duper glue this time, but if they fall apart again I will definately give them a ring. Will also look into fixings.

The dds cheap, flat pack drawers are vastly over filled and are going great two years later Hmm.
