My username is rubbish and I want a better one. I have come up with some better names but every time I decide to change it, I get as far as the "save" button and chicken out.

I haven't been posting very long so it is not as though anyone is going to be wondering if I have suddenly been hit by a bus, but I still find it strangely unnerving. It feels as though I am doing the online equivalent of dying my hair, sticking on a fake beard and running off to the other side of the country and calling myself Dave.

Am I just weird?

I was thinking of changing myself for Halloween since I read KerryMumbles story thread from last year and everyone seemed to be doing it. Have saved a couple ready for when I feel brave enough. Know what you mean though OP I am very attachedofo this name and it takes a lot for me to switch for a day, I always come back to this one.

I've namechanged today.

It's not exactly what I want I don't think but it's better than the old one which was just plain boring.

Only problem now is I can't remember which bloody email address I used to register

both of those names are good op. I like to name change but do find there is one or two names that i keep going back to. I have my halloween name on for now. I darent change it back to non halloween because i was getting bored of that and the halloween name hunt would have to start all over again...

I stick with similar names as I am needy prefer to not have to start again as a newbie. Most of my namechanges are for festive seasons or events.

I've name changed only 4 times since joining MN..Originally I was CatalogueQueen then I was SilverHoops..PussyinBoots..then I was away for a while and when I returned someone had a very similar name so I became Mumcentreplus...

I was LastOrders. Or LastOrdersAgain, since I flounced and can't be bothered to get my old name back.
