Can we have a special MN Argue area just for them?

Someone can say something reasonable and then everyone can jump in with misinterpretations or perceived injuries.

Or AIBU...?

I logged off last night because a couple of posters were just so unnecessarily aggro. Some people don't understand the difference between a debate and a row.

I just tend to stay off aibu. A few times i have read or started athread and though "well nobody could be annoyed about that" but they sre. It just shows what strong opinions people have and thats not a bad thing.

Delighted to see ppl arguing about this! :)

And you're right of course that most ppl debate and as someone who's only just learning to disagree openly with anything I like that. But I did get a bit bored with some ppl last night - oh, and I meant MN in general, not AIBU in particular, although I was probably just on the wrong threads.

MN sometimes feels like it's inhabited with frustrated barristers who are quick to home in on flaws in someone's point of view. I actually appreciate that though. I have one or two 'friends' who come out with the sort of illogical arguments you see on here from time to time, but as it's RL I tend to just nod non-commitally when they're being irrational about something again. MN is the antedote for all that tight lipped-ness. It's actually uncanny how some of the threads are just the sort of reasonings you get from the sort of RL friends that are in constant offense mode. I guess it's quite therapeutic to see them cross-examined because I am too much of a wimp to do it myself. :( Maybe next time they're off on one I should just say 'ooh I just don't know, but I do know a fantastic place online that's just perfect for discussing this sort of thing' hehe.
