to ask my son's best friend's grandfather to pay our school fees.

He's a millionaire on paper so can afford it and I've got to get my son away from his best friend.
He's encouraging him in all sorts of bad habits and I can't stand his boden wearing, chain-sniffing-in-disgust-mother. She always looks v uncomfortable a school whereas I've always got my shell suit on ready for action. Her son is s bright boy but cruises and is arrogant about his ability. Millionaire only has one grandson so surely it's not asking too much for me to expect him to leave his obnoxious offspring in the state sector and pay for private school for me? (I mean my son, obviously)

Was the other one for real?!? Shock
Either snobbery at its extreme or somebody having a laugh... I hope it's the latter. x

Northernlurker · 07/10/2010 20:23

Angie - if it's for real the other op needs a few things firmly pointing out to her. I don't think for a second that it is though.

Orm - good work. 'Tis the way forward. I'm submitting an application for the person whose house backs on to ours to pay my gas bill. They have a conservatory so are plainly v well off and it's not fair if I have to do it. They should see that it's fair only if they do it.

Well. Their country needs them. They should pull their weight

AngieJES · 07/10/2010 20:27

Thank youuu for that laugh... Probably just earned myself another year or so of life laughing at this entire thread Grin x

Northernlurker · 07/10/2010 20:29

Absolutely mummyberry - we're all in this together. Whilst we're chatting could you lend me a few quid for the shopping? Mum's been to Waitrose and all that Grin

I would, you know I would, it's just, you see, But we've jet come back from a short break to Capri. And things are a bit tight.

I'm myself asking my aunty's, best friend's, God father if he wouldn't mind helping out with DD's gap year.

You understand don't you?

Northernlurker · 07/10/2010 20:42

Oh yes of course I understand. Pesonally when asked to send the binman's son's sister-in-law to Harvard I was happy to help but of course that doesn't put anybody under any obligation and I'm sure you have many more total strangers on the Internet to help already.

You'll probably have to blow the grandad, weekly. But WHAT EVAR - it's the Big Society innit?

Northernlurker · 07/10/2010 20:51

I think it's more High Society I'm worried about......

(This is just the reason why one doesn't send one's little darlings to State School. Look it's even rubbed off on me. My spelling has gone to pot.)

Northernlurker · 07/10/2010 20:54

Pot, coke and blow? It's all a bit pharmacutical around here - another reason to demand school fees - there's none of that nonsense at private schools.

I'll bid one moany nearly-15 month old. I'll even throw in the socks and nappy he is currently wandering around in.

annec555 · 09/10/2010 18:19

Sorry - forgot to mention that said moaning 15 month old is above the top 0.000001% of the population in terms of IQ....

erm, let me think....
How about I throw in all the stuff we have spent money on for him in the last 15 months - that has got to be worth a year of college fees at least.
And he can help your child with their coursework.....

mumofthreesweeties · 09/10/2010 20:28

Does his best friend have coke for breakfast or fruit shoot

Ninks · 09/10/2010 20:33

He might have a quick line followed by a fruit shoot. It can make you quite thirsty IIRC.
