my DD ran away......i had to call the police, call her friends etc....give details of last meal and dental practice address (being ex police i knew what those details were needed for....in case they found a body)

i live alone with my dc.......dp and i have fallen out because i found out at the weekend he'd cheated on me (kind of)......

my mum died few years back, best friend is due a baby anyday and was not answering her phone as she was in bed

i considered starting an 'asking for advice/hand holding' thread, but felt i should be doing something else,so didnt....i was shaking, crying in bits really. felt she was a bit suicidal. was imagining the worst.

i felt a bit silly about just needing some mumsnet support when really, you're all strangers .....wondered what the police would make of me being on my laptop posting here. but its the one place i can find answers, and really felt a pull....

AIBU??

chippingin....she had packed a bag,and had no phone cos i'd confiscated it. she says she came back because she was cold, but had been in local fields....me and her sister had been convinced she would have been too scared, but no,she was all muddy

she was a bit bolshy at first with the police, but then was ok and listened, and i hope, took it on board

arfa.....mentoring has been mentioned at school previously. have just spoken to the lady at school in guidance who i did DD's CAF report with. she's onto it now,DD likes her too,so will maybe speak to her

What an awful thing to happen tt.

i am in dunstable and i have heard that this sort of thing happens quite alot, i am glad she is safe now, maybe you need to have another chat, to find out why she did it in the first place.

do you need to talk about what happened with your dp.

you know we are always here to listen. hope you are ok?

TopTulip-

Does your DD have a Personal Advisor?, they are part of the Local Service Team, call you LA and get their information. They DO NOT work for the school and you can initiate the contact with your DD. They are bloody fantastic and can do so much.

Does your DD respect the CAF that has been done on her? Is she working to her goals?

How does your DD rate the guidance woman at school?

Glad she is back safe and sound.
