To think MP's

If I hear one more time 'we are all in this together' I think I might scream.... coming from all these tory MPS on the tv. How can we take them seriously - after all the expenses row (I know a lot of them have gone but...) most have 2 homes, and expenses that they can claim amount to huge amounts.
When I worked away - I got put up in a travelodge or equivalent and got up to £20 per day expenses (Reciets required). Wish I could claim for a cleaner and gardner!!!

DC GO have no idea how some people live and I am sick of listening to them. AIBU
I am going up to the council estate to see what I can claim. (no point asking a govt office - they ahve no idea)
Have not heard from My MP who I sent an email too - too busy drinking champers......

I think Labour and Lib/Dem MP's were just as guilty as the Conservatives in the expenses row. And I think the Conservatives are the only party who have frozen their MP's wages for the next few years.

I know you Scottish lot didnt vote for them, so it must be annoying to be governed by them, but I dont want SNP or Labour either.

Oh the joys of living in a democracy. If you're sick of listening don't listen - no-ones making you.

Thing is the Scots are happy enough to take English cash to subsidise Scottish schemes, but equally happy to whinge about government from Westminster. You can't have it all ways - wind yer neck in and live with it.

Ever thought your MP and his office might be busy....or that the underrated and oft abused civil servants who will actually answer your letter to your MP might be busy too....?

Actually - I don't live in Scotland. And yes I agree they are all the same. I just object to them all saying we are all in this together, when quite frankly they have no idea what it is to scrimp and scrape money.

The MP's may not personally be having to scrimp and scrape but they're having to meet a lot of their constituents who do, and they're having to explain what's going on (and who would envy them that job?). Most aren't sat admiring their duck houses drinking champagne - that would be an unfair charicature. The changes to spending that are being made will affect a very wide range of people (witness how many people 'scraping by' on £50k are upset after yesterday's news). So we may not 'all be in this together' 100% equally but I don't think too many will be totally unaffected either
