www.teapigs.co.uk/product/tea/Black-tea/chilli+chai I'll be enjoying this when DS has a nap. Mmmmm yummy.

DomesticG0ddess · 05/10/2010 12:10

Doesn't contravene all the rules of tea - Chai tea should only be drunk sweet and milky.

pranma · 05/10/2010 14:09

I thought chai was tea and latte was milk so it must be milky tea-I am a naughty grandma and have been known to give 4 yr old dgs 'chai latte' as being half an inch of weak tea topped up with milk and drunk with a small piece of cake or a biscuit during the long gap between lunch and tea[otherwise known as pranma's little sit down]:)

This is my newest weekend treat: www.starbucks.com/menu/drinks/tazo-tea/earl-grey-tea-latte?foodZone=9999

Its delicious!

LucyGoose · 05/10/2010 17:51

bintofbohemia · 05/10/2010 17:51

Gingerbread latte, that's want you want, they usually start doing them in Starbucks just before Christmas and they're Fabulous. (Even though I am supposed to hate starbucks.)

LucyGoose · 05/10/2010 17:53

The Pumpkin latte has just come out for the fall here too, have not had it though

GrungeBlobPrimpants · 05/10/2010 17:54

Help with pronunciation would also be very helpful. So I can really impress my middle-class mummy mates dead proper

Goblinchild · 05/10/2010 17:54

I drink chai or lapsang as my tea choice.
I've never had a latte though. Smile

Isn't it the origin of the term 'char' for tea?

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 05/10/2010 17:55

Fucking disgusting is what it is.

I ordered one once thinking I would try something new and it was grim. Took it back to the counter and told them I wanted a free replacement with something drinkable.

The gingerbread latte on the other hand is delicious. Can't wait until it is time to do the Christmas shopping :)

bintofbohemia · 05/10/2010 17:56

Origins of "cup of char"

pagwatch · 05/10/2010 17:57

I think the 'fucking' is silent. Like g in gnome. Certainly the barrista at my local looked as if I hadn't quite caught the pronounciation

nickschick · 05/10/2010 18:00

IF YOU ARE COMMENTING,THEN TO HONOUR THE POSTER WHO PUT THIS VERY QUANDRY INTO YOUR MIND YOU SHOULD USE CAPS LOCK.

GrungeBlobPrimpants · 05/10/2010 18:00

Ah, char! ooooh, my rellies used to ask to a cuppa char in the old days!

pmsl @ silent f*ing in the local starbucks

OhLuckyYou · 05/10/2010 18:02

The ones in Nero are much better than Starbucks, (plus you get the little discount cards - normally I get a small latte but when I've filled up my card I treat myself to a huge mocha chocha chino Smile)

Twinnings Chai Tea is v.nice too, I usually make it like a normal cuppa with just a bit of milk.

pagwatch · 05/10/2010 18:04

me too ohluckyyou

I drink espresso con panna every day then hand my card over to get a caramellatte...

OhLuckyYou · 05/10/2010 18:11

Pagwatch - I have a friend who feels "too guilty" to order the biggest, most expensive drink for her freebie because she normally only has a small hot choc when she's paying for itHmm

Morloth · 05/10/2010 18:13

WHERE DID THAT THREAD GO?! I WAS ENJOYING IT?!

MrsChemist · 05/10/2010 18:15

It's in classics now

VivaLeBeaver · 05/10/2010 18:15

I only drink Chai, but not Chai latte. I use the Twinings Chai teabags and they're very nice, though not as nice as my housekeeper in Africa used to make.

Starbucks chai lattes are vile.

Morloth · 05/10/2010 18:16

WHERE THE FUCK IS CLASSICS?! I JUST SPENT AT LEAST 30 SECONDS LOOKING FOR IT AND I COULDN'T FIND IT - SOMEBODY TELL ME!

nickschick · 05/10/2010 18:18

nickschick · 05/10/2010 18:19

MrsChemist · 05/10/2010 18:19

HERE BUT I DON'T KNOW WHY YOU DIDN'T GET A MANSERVANT TO FIND IT FOR YOU.

pagwatch · 05/10/2010 18:21
