To think that 6 days is not an acceptable

Delivery target these days? And that is six working days!!!!

Have placed an order with Baker Ross for the first time and am pretty sure that drop down box with delivery charges does not give delivery targets.

Why can't all companies use amazon style ordering? Super speedy and informative.

Am I being unreasonable to think that three days after ordering a status of 'being picked' is pretty poor?

Ok. So I am BU. I'm obviously expecting too much.

I think that if the goods are in stock then 6 working days is a rubbish service. So, YANBU, and, even if 6 days really is the best they can achieve then they could at least keep you informed about it. I'm a big fan of amazon as well....

I was thinking the other day of ordering from catalogues 20 years ago when delivery was always "within 28 days", and thinking how lucky we are these days that stuff turns up so quickly . . .

potplant · 05/10/2010 10:17

Depends what I'm ordering. If it was something made to measure or from overseas then it would be OK but I might grumble about it.
Books, CDs clothes then no. I am definitely spolied by being an Amazon Prime customer though. 95% of their stuff (well the stuff I want to buy) comes next day for free.

Grin at the old school 'allow 28 days for delivery'!

Oh God, I long for a 6 day delivery service - try being in Australia where standard seems to be 21-28 days. And where letters get to the UK faster than they go between states. I'd take a 6day delivery very happily here - but in your posish in the UK, yes it's shite.

You'll find that even Amazon give you lengthy delivery targets for some products. It's to cover their backsides. Expect your order will show up in well under 6 days.

Not that NZ is better than Oz Wink but I have been amazed since we got here how quickly things get sent. 24 hours for my DH's contact lens, 2 working days for a school text book.

Amazon have majorly cocked up here Angry. We ordered a book for my mum's birthday (1st October) We ordered it last MONDAY, paid 'super speedy delivery' postage and it still isn't here. DH is embroiled in fuming e mails with them, they a) blamed the courier b) blamed the Postal service c) can't find it anywhere. Just waiting for d) 'We don't think this book has actually ever been writtem sir'. ARGHHH

PutOnThePan · 05/10/2010 11:04

Ok, just rang them and they have upgraded the delivery free of charge so very good customer service.

I really disliked the mothercare delivery too - it all turned up in bits and bobs with nothing updating on line.

I really have been amazon spoilt and we've not had any trouble with them-yet!

Amazon

I ordered DVD box set on 23rd september, not here yet.

bonnymiffy · 05/10/2010 16:32

I'll add that amazon aren't perfect - an order of mine got lost last year which was hugely frustrating as it was Christmas presents. I had to wait till after Christmas before they would replace the goods, but they did do that with no quibbles. I just hope that there aren't folks who will take advantage of that (am probably deluded though)
