Followed by the sugar obviously.....

You do NOT repeat DO NOT dump the teabag, sugar and milk in the (bone china) cup/ mug/ whatever then pour hot water on top and hope for the best ?? Angry

YABU and YANBU.

as you say, no you do not dump the teabag sugar and milk in the cup. but that's because you put the tea LEAVES in the TEAPOT. You put the milk in the cup before pouring the TEA. in your scenario there is no tea being poured. just hot water.

mathanxiety · 04/10/2010 15:24

Oh -- didn't notice some of you are making tea with teabags in the cup (Blush, and Shock); I always brew the tea in a pot.

Nancy Mitford famously referred to the lower middle classes as MIFs or Milk in Firsts.

taffetacat · 04/10/2010 19:33

lol I read that first as MILFs Blush

can't imagine a Mitford commenting on that eh

nappyaddict · 18/11/2010 09:37

Is it true ceramic tea strainers make the tea taste better than metal ones?

Jux · 18/11/2010 09:43

YANBU. Water first always. To do otherwise is to mark yourself out as an oik Grin

Oh OK, I do it as above, but if you put your milk in first then so what? So long as the tea is not Earl Grey you'll still get a good cuppa.
