To giggle at DD1 telling us off?

DD1 is three and a half. She knows EVERYTHING.

She also tells us off for being silly.

EG- DH was dressing the baby, who was trying to crawl away, he satrted muttering "stop doing that! I'm trying to get you dressed!"

To which DD1 gave him a withering look and said "why are you telling the baby off? You sound very silly, you know. Babies don't know words yet- they are too LITTLE!"

If I pretend not to know something to see if she knows it (eg "where do carrots grow? Is it on trees?") she sighs and says "mummy, you do know things, you just have to think properly!"

She also congratulates me if I "manage" to make tea or go to the toilet.

Mine can't be the only one that does this, surely?

When my DD was 2 me and DS were playing fighting and she rushed over and stated in a VERY authoritive voice 'calm down everybody! Mummy you sit there and Aunty you sit over there and both take some time to think what you're doing!' Me and DS about died laughing. Now she's constantly telling people off lol!

I sat as a life model for an artist friend of mine and he ended up giving me the painting. It hangs in our hallway, and can be seen from the bed.

2.5 yr old DD was lying in bed. I asked her, "What are you thinking about?"

"Your picture, daddy". I think it was the first time she had noticed it.

"Do you want a closer look?"

"Yes please".

She stood in front of it, actually stroking her chin, head cocked to one side: "Hmm, let me see .... I like your ears ... I like your nose. But I don't like your eyebrows."

I love this age when they start to form opinions and are able to voice them rather eloquently!

DD is almost 4 and a PITA when it comes to getting dressed. She was fart arsing about so I helped her, was runing really late, she said "mummy? do you love me?" "of course I do baby, but you do annoy me sometimes" she cocked her head, put her hands out and said "but that's us what girls do"

My DD (3) talks exactly like a nursery school teacher, as in she is enthusiastic about EVERYTHING. We were at the park not long ago and her dad was going on the zip line and she called out "well done daddy, you clever thing!" and turned to me and said "isn't daddy doing well? Do you have the camera ready?"

reminds me of when dd (my first baby) was born and nephews came to visit....
dn1 'You can carry the baby into the kitchen if you're very careful, Auntie SSM, but make sure you don't drop it!'

and later I heard him loudly proclaiming to his dad 'I think Auntie SSM is a very good mother to that baby.'
Presumably because I hadn't dropped it.

We all need words of encouragement don't we?

DD once told her dad she was very proud of me. Why? Coz I'd managed to do a handstand (was showing her how to) and hadn't even wobbled once. She was very solemn about it too.

My achievement for today was that I counted all the way to 20. I am a very good girl :D

Lol, although last night we were playing counting, and DD1 was the teacher. She "taught" me how to count forwards and backwards- all great. Then she said "now let's do it in Spanish!" I don't know Spanish.

The worst thing was, she kept saying "come on mummy, you know how to do it! You can do it! I'll help you!" I ended up asking DH to take over

I have a university certificate in Spanish, but no idea how. I think I got all my marks on the "Spanish culture" essay and that made up for me speaking Spanish in a Lancashire accent and little bits of french in the oral exam... Somehow I think I'm not the languages parent in this house!
