To think my cunting neighbour could let me sleep?

I live in a terraced house. My next door neighbour is usually quite nice. But at the weekend when her DS goes to stay with her mum (every weekend), she becomes someone completely different. Over the past month we have had problems with her coming back drunk and locking herself out, twice. Not so bad except she has then spent 2-3 hrs KICKING the back door, which will not give as it's one of those UPVC ones where the bolts go into the frame. The other weeks, she plays her music loud until 3am.

Last night really took the fucking biscuit though. Her music was loud enough to keep me awake, which was bad enough, but at 4.45am, she turned it up soooo loud that it woke EVERYONE in my house up. All 3 dc's, me(I had finally dropped of through exhaustion), and DP who had to be up at 7am for work.

I went and banged on the door until her man friend answered, and he turned it down, but at 8am on the dot, it went back on. Does the woman not need to sleep??

There's no point calling the police, they tell me to take it up with the HA, and when I take it up with the HA, they get me to keep diary sheets. For the last 3 yrs. With nothing done about it, as no-one else complains.Mostly because they all play realy loud music at unreasonable times.

I'm so glad that I am having to move due to being pregnant and the house being too small. I can't wait because, oddly...I like to sleep!!

Have you tried the council noise people? Are they any good? Your HA shouldn't be so shit over AS behaviour, it's not on Sad

Hold on for the move......

Environmental health just post me back to my HA. It's been ongoing for the 6 yrs I've lived here, with one neighbour or another. I know it's social housing, but bloody hell, Why am I the only one in the street that takes notice of the fact that our tenancy agreement states 'no anti-social noise between 11pm and 8am'??

Cos they are gobshites and I think I used to live on your street Grin
How soon is the move?

CardyMow · 02/10/2010 09:26

When we can find an afordable 4-bed private rent in our area. We have a time limit of 18 months from now, as when bump becomes baby..and then baby needs a bed, there is no-where to put a bed, we can only just squeeze a cot into our room.

Sad. No chance of the HA moving you or an exchange then?

Does the woman not need to sleep??

Oooh, about 1-2hrs if she's doing coke/speed.Wink

CardyMow · 02/10/2010 13:12

Hmm didn't think about that, cumfy. I have heard through the grapevine that she is a little partial to a bit of 'cola'...

No chance of HA moving us unless we leave our town, our 8 houses are the only ones in our town (1hr train from London) the rest are in London.
