that baked beans should count for two, by that logic?

(AI also BU to think that this may be one of the most trivial threads I have ever started?)

Legumes are a particular family of plants aren't they? Peas are legumes I'm sure. Nitrogen-fixing.

I love tinned spaghetti hoops, but not tinned spaghetti. Odd.

a cup of tea counte too (but again, only as 1) so a bag of crisps for a snack, cup of tea with your tinned spaggetti for tea then a chocolate orange with a glass of wine in the evening and that's you got your 5 for the day Grin

Sounds good to me. What about cherry drops? they must count for something too.

I knew someone at uni who thought if it said 'suitable for vegetarians' it counted as one of your 5-a-day....

nameymcnamechange · 01/10/2010 20:01

And those incredibly sticky thin hard fruit gums that came in a yellow tube and stuck to your teeth. If you could still get hold of those I bet they would count for a full portion.

hobbgoblin · 01/10/2010 20:04

Oh come on we all know a vegetable is anything that isn't cake or meat.

fatlazymummy · 01/10/2010 20:30

Some more fruit and veg which count as 1 of your 5-
Tomato ketchup
Slice of lemon/lime in vodka and tonic
The orange in jaffa cakes
And a packet of starburst obviously contains 5 portions.[strawberry, blackcurrent, orange ,lemon and lime]
Oh, and don't forget the lime/blackcurrent that comes with lager.
And the cherries on top of the sticky iced buns!

"we all know a vegetable is anything that isn't cake or meat."

pranma · 01/10/2010 21:52

just make sure the tinned spaggers is organic and it will count as almost anything.
