Not looked at the girls btw as only have a ds! But there were pics of little boys who looked about 3 wearing leather aviator jackets with military boots and generally looking like something out of london fashion week- what's the point?! Imo they looked silly, and not all that comfy. I mean what's wrong with a pair of dungarees?!
Still going to buy stuff though as it's the only place that does decent clothes at 4 tops for 9 quid that delivers to bfpo! Grin

Well I like the aviator and biker leather jackets in H&M, in fact I have just bought 2 for my DSs today. I am bored bored bored (and so are they) of navy blue, grey, brown anoraks et al. I know they will love these jackets because they like to play racing drivers and pilots. If girls can have princessy stuff why can't boys have action boy's stuff?
I have to agree though, that it's really hard finding a good choice of reasonably priced clothes for boys and when you do they probably don't have the size(s)you're after. And, if you're shopping online you get through all the registering nonsense, trawl through the pages and if you're lucky find something only to find that they are out of stock or you have to wait 2 weeks for delivery. It must be a nightmare if you are BFPO.
So for that YANBU.
Rambling rant over.

AngelsOnHigh · 01/10/2010 13:50

Target and Best and Less have great stuff for boys.

YummyorSlummy · 01/10/2010 17:10

Constantly tired I got my ds a coat from jojomamanbebe. One of their polarfleece ones.It was only £26 so not really anymore expensive than next etc although the rest of their stuff is a bit pricey. I have been thinking of trying Ebay pluperfect wasn't sure if many sellers would post overseas but I'll definately have to have a look now!

For the eurogirls, I found nice boy's stuff in C&A yesterday. H&M hopeless and Next not particularly inspiring. Hema has racks and racks of girl's stuff and one solitary, moth-eaten checked shirt. Wink

PinkElephant73 · 01/10/2010 18:26

Next has become chav heaven for clothes unfortunately.

Pumpkin Patch have nice clothes for age 5-11 ish, you can order off the web, they are based in NZ so dont know if they deliver to BFPO.

fedupofnamechanging · 01/10/2010 18:28

Agree that Next is getting chavvier. also, they have stopped sending out PO returns forms, so unless you want to use the courrier service, it's a PITA sending stuff back. Have phoned twice so far to get returns forms sent out. Still waiting.

Jojomamanbebe is a bit more expensive for some things, but the clothes keep well.

pluperfect · 01/10/2010 18:33

There you are: House of Fraser do Pumpkin Patch, AND they deliver to BFPO!!

As for eBay, I've found this page on the cost of delivering from the UK to BFPO, so you could just send any eBay seller the link, to get them to see it's not uncompetitive.

Hope that is helpful, after my earlier gaffe!

JimJammum · 01/10/2010 20:55

Actually, Sainsbury's had some lovely rugbyshirt-type tops at the mo and ds has some stripy long sleeved tops from last year from there which have lasted fantastically well (and he loves them). Agree Next syuff looked rubbish, and wasn't impressed with much of Zara this season, although I usually like their stuff too.

poppymouse · 01/10/2010 21:23

YANBU. I looked everywhere for trousers (all of Lakeside and the retail park, if that means anything to you) for DS and they all looked more trendy than comfortable, skinny jeans in stiff fabric will not suit my wriggly piggly boy. How would he chase that cat under the table in them? In the end I loaded up at Mothercare, thank you for soft and loose clothes.

Mind you, a Mum in H&M was deeeeelighted to find skinny jeans to go with the Ugg boots she had just got her 3yo, so it takes all sorts.

SixtyFootDoll · 01/10/2010 21:28

I actually like the boys stuff in Next, but my DS's are older.
i think its fashionable and nice to see some colours for a change rather than the normal sludge for boys.

My DS too loves the flouro trunks esp the pink ones!

MissDolittle · 01/10/2010 21:35

YABU. There is loads of stuff in the Next catalogue for little boys, except 3yo dungarees because only a sadist would put a 3yo in dungarees. They have plain brightly coloured tshirts which seem to be a mn holy grail as well as plain sludgy coloured and nice stripey tshirts, bright anoraks, comfy trousers with ribbed waists, cute knitted jumpers, loads of t-shirts without slogan with just an animal or vehicle on them. Nothing has "i'm a moron" or "I'm undisiplined" on it. You don't have to buy an aviator jacket.

MissDolittle · 01/10/2010 21:38

If you want real dross look at mothercare. They are still selling layered tshirts with "Mummy's little rascal" on. I thought I was in 2003.

SixtyFootDoll · 01/10/2010 21:40

I dont think its Chavvy either.
Far more interesting than Boring Boden.

celebmum · 01/10/2010 21:40

Awww i love the little boys stuff in the new next catalogue! its scrummy! Smile
I think George at ASDA have some lovely casual stuff too.

Sainsburys have 25% off all clothes this wkend.. inc halloween costumes!!Grin

SixtyFootDoll · 01/10/2010 21:43

love this wish DS 1 would let me dress get it for him

vicbar · 01/10/2010 23:32

Laredoute are good for boys stuff, not too expensive and last ages. (I bought DD1 loads of stuff and its now waiting for dd3) ds1 ruins most of his stuff but Ive handed loads of it to friends. They post to BFPO In Germany - not sure where you are though.

nicolamumof3 · 01/10/2010 23:41

there are some nice things as others have said and then some not so nice, same as any other catalogue i'd say. My boys quite like some of the trendy bits. And yes i do put my boys in skinny jeans, they like them they fit there v.slim frames without the endless pulling in of those adjustable waists and look so cool with their vans and converse.

I have three boys aged 11,4 and 3 and all i'd say is enjoy it while it lasts one day he'll choose his own stuff whether you like it or not! DS1 loves the pink star trunks from next atm. Tho has just uttered two words i didn't want to hear yet..Jack Wills.

JL has lovely boys stuff in, not thought much of m&s this year so far, tho they do have lovely fair isle cardi. Do asos deliver BFPO?

scottishmummy · 01/10/2010 23:50

whats yer beef op since you going to buy anyhoo?

usualsuspect · 01/10/2010 23:54

Pumpkin patch? hahahaha just no

Kewcumber · 02/10/2010 00:01

I loooove biker Jackets on DS - he looks cute in them. Its all the stuff with skull and cross bones that gets my goat.

AlpinePony · 02/10/2010 04:20

Yes, ASOS deliver overseas at actually very reasonable prices - shame their nice children's clothes are not at such nice prices...

You mean that one day I'll have to stop dressing my son in dungarees? ShockGrin

I think the Boden boys stuff is cute, but very repetitive - and, I can't be the only one who pops a small outfit in the online shopping basket and then screeches "50 quid? FIFTY QUID? are you insane?" and then closes the window.

Next may be "chavvy" but as they deliver overseas for only 5 euros for the ENTIRE order, they can't be beaten by any other UK shop, their returns are easy (if you're nipping over to the UK) and although people might think it's chavvy in the UK - here in Holland, he's certainly the only kid in this street wearing Next! (Maybe we're the only chavs? Wink )

MaMoTTaT · 02/10/2010 04:37

Pumpkin Patch usually has some lovely stuff.

However, I bought 3 items of clothing from them 2yrs ago - a top for DS3, and jeans for DS1 and 2.

The idea (since I'd paid so much bloody money) was that the trousers would pass down like the rest of their clothes......

No such luck - was VERY disappointed with how long they (didn't) last.

YummyorSlummy · 02/10/2010 11:43

Thanks for your replies everyone! Even those who said that Iabu Grin
I now have Pumpkin Patch, asos and ebay to try so will be a good excuse for me to spend a good hour or so on the pc today!
