Im trying to work out my pay as its spread over the year taking into account your not paid for school holidays .

So hourly rate x by 40 weeks per year[holidays] roughly and then divide by 12 and thats your monthly wage, right or wrong?.

Im rubbish at maths, good job Im not going as a teacher then ha ha.

hourly rate x hours worked / 12 would give your monthly salary. Unless it's pro-rata and then you'll need to do the % of time worked compared to full time salary

195 days in school year (including staff training.) If you are working five days a week, calculate your earnings per day, multiply by 195 and divide by 12, that will give you gross monthly salary.

YANBU by the way ;) But the school finance office should be able to tell you what to expect on your pay slip after deductions etc if you are still unsure.

Roughly right, but you may find you actually get paid for 42 weeks-ish taking into account statutory holiday entitlement.

AlicesWonderland · 28/09/2010 18:31

you should also pro rata any holiday you'd entitled to I work in a school term time only and get paid for 39 weeks term time and then 15 days holiday divided by 12

I get paid for 43.26 weeks and the 'full-time' week is 37 hours.
I actually do work 37 hours in term time, so I get 43.26/52 of the full-time wage. But if I worked 25 hours a week, I would only get 25/37 of that amount
So the sum would be (if the salary full time was £18000)

£1800/52x 43.26/37x25 Then you divide by 12 to get the monthly payment.
(There should probably be some brackets in there somewhere, but I'm not sure where, luckily I'm not a teacher either!)
