a farkin Bar in it! Yes A full Bar right there in the middle of soft play and loads of parents standing around supping pints and glasses of wine, I mean a separate warehouse type area with all the climbing areas in and A Fully Stocked Bar.

I have never been anywhere like this before. And the drinking vessels were all glass as well.

Is this normal or AIBU to be shocked by this? I will stand by the opinions on here but never saw anything like this before.

New to me.

Where is it, it sounds like just about the only way to cope with soft play area Grin

thisisyesterday · 25/09/2010 21:11

sounds like my kind of soft play. where is it?

onepieceoflollipop · 25/09/2010 21:11

What a fab idea. Grin

I would rather have a glass of wine than a cup of instant coffee that they pretend has come from a machine that cost £2.99!

geraldinetheluckygoat · 25/09/2010 21:11

I think you are easily shocked Smile

MollieO · 25/09/2010 21:13

Sounds like heaven Grin. Where??

shimmerysilverglitter · 25/09/2010 21:14

Its in Nottingham. The Child Supervisor/Bar Maid (not sure those two job titles really go together Grin was kept extremely busy!

A bar in a soft play is great. I went to a birthday party one year, me and my friend drank wine while DH ran around after DS1. It number the noise out Grin

myredcardigan · 25/09/2010 21:14

Im guessing it was a Wackywarehouse as they all have bars in them or are attached to bars.
They are usually nasty on various levels.

howdidthishappenthen · 25/09/2010 21:14

There's one in Westward Ho!, Devon. Much appreciated by damp holidaymakers :-)

shimmerysilverglitter · 25/09/2010 21:16

No wasn't a Wacky Warehouse, have been to them, they are a separate play area tacked onto the side of the pub aren't they?

This one actually had a bar in the middle of soft play with the kids playing and the equipment all around it, even going over the top of it.

omg i holiday near westward ho! every year and did not know about this! what's the name of it>???

we also have a wacky warehouse near us, and while it is joined onto the pub it doesn't hav ea bar in the actual soft play place!!!

onimolap · 25/09/2010 21:16

It's a pub! Of course they'll serve booze where their customers want it.

prozacfairy · 25/09/2010 21:16

Sounds brilliant! Smile

thisisyesterday · 25/09/2010 21:18

so.. nottingham...

heymango · 25/09/2010 21:20

Ooh, I'm near Nottingham - what's it called?

Morloth · 25/09/2010 21:22

Sounds great to me, I think they should serve vodka shots with valium chasers at those places.

MoonUnitAlpha · 25/09/2010 21:22

I have been to non-pub based soft play places that sell booze too.

shimmerysilverglitter · 25/09/2010 21:23

The Bee Hive, The Bee Keeper, something like that. Good food actually, great big massive platefuls, typical pub grub done nicely.

howdidthishappenthen · 25/09/2010 21:23

Humm. Never noticed a name. It's on the first residential street running parallel behind the beach boardwalk. Big crappy looking cheap place. Go in ,straight through the main bar, out the otherwide, and wehhay - big FREE soft-play centre, with added booze. A stable of our Devon holidays to see grandparents on the seafront. Enjoy! (I may even see you in there one day. I'll be the only other mum without a tattoo).

activate · 25/09/2010 21:23

WHY WOULD ANY SANE PERSON GO TO ONE OF THOSE PLACES?

shimmerysilverglitter · 25/09/2010 21:25

To eat in peace while your kids play? I didn't drink as I don't drink but I think soft play and a peaceful meal are a wonderful thing!

OP posts:
heymango · 25/09/2010 21:26

Oh, I've been to that one - didn't have a bar in those days though!

Perhaps if it's raining tomorrow.....!

activate · 25/09/2010 21:28

No bloody way

If you teach your kids properly you can eat and drink in peace whilst your kids eat and drink in peace and chat and play a little

but in soft play you are surrounded by other people's kids who don't

much prefer to be in a nice pub with few children behaving well than be in a soft play with a bar

ick

shimmerysilverglitter · 25/09/2010 21:30

Wouldn't we all activate doesn't always work out like that though does it?

OP posts:
bigchris · 25/09/2010 21:30

Is it in gamston? There's a pub there with a softplay place attached
great times
