Yes, first up, I admit to reading closer Blush

But seriously, there's a feature about a Mum who injects her 11yo and 12yo with Botox, and has given them lip fillers.

I mean, yes it's America, but still? If that's not abuse I don't know what is imo!

I don't know what closer is , but 11 and 12 year olds? that's abuse that is.
Why would a child (and that is what they are) need something like that? Shuffles off mumbling in a veyr old lady fashion.

Its a trashy weekly magazine.
Apparently the Mum wants to keep them looking beautiful, and doesn't care if people tell her it could seriously harm her kids...
Its cant possibly be a true story....I hope!!!

I don't read Closer but it came free with Heat this week, which I do read and I don't mind admitting it! So I had a quick skim through, couldn't even be arsed to read that story, I don't believe that anyone would do that for a second and if she is she deserves to have SS involved. Farkin Idiot!

Oh the article I skipped was "my family don't deserve ASBOs, they've just all got ADHD". Yeah, whatever love... Grin

Botulism is a toxin. A friend's DD used to have it injected into her leg to paralyse the nerves that caused her to limp. I understand the use of it for a proper reason, but vanity is madness. Up to adults of course, they can make informed choices, but children. FFS.

Some of our Year 6 Mums, in preparation for the Leavers' Disco, definitely stumped up for everything from designer frocks to hair & nail extensions for their daughters. Not too big a leap to Botox and lip fillers... nothing surprises me.

Odysseus · 24/09/2010 16:42

I personally find all that sort of thing very odd... it really is giving young girls the wrong foundations for their lives!

i thought this was the tv programme and it was an episode i;d missed - i'm now very dissapointed

pompncircumstance · 24/09/2010 16:47

I watched a programme last week I think its called babymodels or something like that and there was a mum who had a daughter of 8. She wore makeup everyday, had her hair done like a 20 year old and her mum bought her all these latest fashion gear ect saying they were like best friends and stuff. I thought this was OTT but this is worse. What happened to parents being parents and role models for their kids?

chilipepper27 · 24/09/2010 17:05

i read this article it made me feel sick, i still cant decide on whether its real or not, surely its a case for child protection. whats next diy boob jobs? lipo for babies?

Odysseus · 24/09/2010 17:06

Yeah the Mum had said that her daughters can have boob jobs at 15. 15!!! They won't even have finished developing anyway!! Surely that's a recipe for really odd, wonky boobs?? (and a deep, psychological self confidence problem?!)

"What happened to parents being parents and role models for their kids?"

That's so Victorian Wink. To be a truly modern mummy you have to a) never grow up b) never grow old and c) never pull rank on your best friend.... lifesize dolly.... offspring... develop your irresponsible streak, dish out the Botox & blog it all on Twitter when the spoilt little brat ends up in rehab!

Thanks Chil mine is still a bit young for botox but I might have to bear it in mind. I think I will need to start saving up too for all her cosmetic surgery once she hits 16. Maybe we could go get it done together even. I could do with a tummy tuck Grin
