So annoying.Ttoddlers in new catalogue clothes and hair pulled tightly back.
So controlled, I can't bear seeing kids like that

What sunnydelight said. Mine are very clean and well-dressed. The girls always have their hair in plaits or bunches for school because they have quite long hair and putting it up decreases the chances of getting lice or nits. They play outside every chance they get at school - I just make sure I clean their clothes and shoes properly afterwards. They wear uniforms to school and when not in school they wear nice clothes.

Cornrows really hurt to put into white hair, btw. And take days to loosen.

DS is supplied with nice clothes by his grandparents. He's only 1, he plays as he wants.

But I clean him off when it's time to go home, wipe snot, etc.

Maybe it annoys you so much because you're lazy, but like to instead say it's because others are being precious and scorn them to feel better about being a slacker. Wink

My gran always said you can see "todays" dirt.
My children start the day clean & tidy.
My dd generally looks fine till she eats. DS1 looks messy within 2 mins & the baby again is ok till he eats!
None of mine ever look like they've just been on a catalogue shoot though!
There is one family at the school, all the children always look dirty, really grubby. I just want to give them a good bath & a scrub. Although judgng by another thread on here today I'd better not Wink

I love clean, well-dressed children and it's completely untrue that nice clothes and shoes (including dresses) are incompatible with playing out of doors. My DD spends more time on her scooter and in the park and playground than any child I know and she really doesn't look grubby.

But we do definitely wash frequently and she wears completely clean clothes every day.

As to the catalogue shoot - I bought Milk magazine's latest issue and there was a photo fashion story featuring a little boy from DD's class at school and his older sister!

Same here, Bonsoir. I agree.

Gorgeous children, too!

DD1 played in the airport in Amsterdam with two smartly-turned out French girls, who spoke excellent English, and I felt flattered when they complimented her appearance and Scottish accent.
