To take (other people's) new baby pics off fridge after a few months

So many people I know have had babies or kids with birthdays whose thank yous have a picture on the front and my fridge is too full of them - when is it okay to take them down and am I allowed to throw them away or is it wrong to throw away pics of other people's kids?

YANBU

I am not into pics of other peoples kids.

You could have a box for them. Might be nice to look back in future. They wouldn't take up much space.

I assume you mean photos of the new babies? If the family are sending them out they will have loads, so I wouldn't feel guilty about throwing them away. You could ask if they want them back.

Ooh I don't know. My mother made me promise never to throw photos away, I just can't do it.

Rockbird, your mother lived in an age when photos were irreplaceable, ie before they were digital and stored forever on CDs/t'internet.

I'd chuck 'em after a few months.

thanks - I mean birth announcement cards and also my friends always seem to send cards with pics of their kids on as thank yous for bday presents etc.

yes maybe I will take them off wall/fridge but put them in a drawer somewhere.

Yanbu. Throw them away.

YANBU. My friend sent me a birth announcement of her DS2 and with it sent a lovely pic of her DS1 holding her DS2. When I put it on the fridge DH whinged about the fact that we've got enough pictures of our own DC about the place, without having pictures up of children that he barely knows!

I would never have thrown it away though (it was a proper photograph) it's been put away.

True, I suppose I never thought of that. But it's ingrained now. And if I mention to her that I did some clearing out over the weekend her first comment is always "I hope you didn't throw out any photos." :o
