Knowing that we have had IVF (during which time MIL breached our confidentiality, her DD made a very bitchy bloody malicious comment to me, and then had the nerve for no fucking reason to question our marriage a few months later...) is it bloody me, or is giving our 2 year old a book about bonking rabbits who keep breeding and eventually move into separate beds to avoid more babies taking the bloody piss?

Is she just insensitive and ignorant or a bloody cow in sheeps clothing?

He's 2 for fuck's sake.....does he need to know about birds and bees? Given that her DD has got 3 children I suppose this is their hint hint....

AAAGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to rant Mumsnet, am loving this forum and have only just joined!

I want to know what the big discovery is!

iansgal · 22/09/2010 17:43

Basiclly they have lots of kids, then have to stop sleeping in bed as all the kids take up the bed. Once they stop sleeing together then the babies stop coming. The kids grow up and move out, they are lonely so 'hop' back into bed and make more. But eventually they had so many that enough was enough and they separated their beds.

Yes what's the big discovery? Daddy rabbit prefers other boy rabbits, really?

StealthPolarBear · 22/09/2010 17:50

Sounds like he's had a very sheltered upbringing :o

FakePlasticTrees · 22/09/2010 17:58

Tell her you don't intend to raise DS to think you should only have sex to procreate, so you don't think this book is appropriate. However, if there's another book in the series where Mrs. Bunny goes to get the coil fitted, or Mr. Bunny gets the snip, you'd love a copy.

ASecretLemonadeDrinker · 22/09/2010 18:01

what's the big discovery???

I would say she probably just looked at the front [hopeful] - does she usually buy books/gifts?

iansgal · 22/09/2010 18:55

No has only once bought him a book - Thomas one he already has. I don't know what the big discovery is, I think it's that they are sharing the same bed and the bunnied keep appearing and they realise that they'll stop if they separate their beds? Not entirely realy life, itll stop if you use some bloody protection! Or in our case...won't start without an airlift!

YANBU I think she is being really insensitive if not malicous.

iansgal · 24/09/2010 09:50

Ok, have shredded it in work shredder which i found terribly satisfying!. DH felt it was insensitive, thoughtless but in ignorance rather than deliberately hurtful. If it was not for all the other things that have happened might be able to think so too but this is just another thing to add to my list!
