yes where at a public play area, someone i know was there, i know her youngest os not even 2 years old yet.

there is a large sandy play area, she was buildiing him castles and he was knocking them down

only trouble was he wasnt waiting until she had finished and stated whacking her hand before she had moved the bucket.

she told him to stop twice, he didn't she she got a plastic spade and hit him on the hand with it and said see hurts doesn't it.

i was pretty shocked and my dd then started hitting someone else with a spade, as she was oping this woman.

i had to say to dd, no hitting, it's not nice to hit.

i was a bit awkward as dd started coping, and i was pretty shocked she hit him on the hands with a plastic spade

what do you think?

I think it's a GREAT idea to hit children on their hands with plastic, or indeed metal, spades.

What do you think people are going to say!

Goes along the same lines of a parent biting their child back to see if they like it!!

Only heard that story again the other day and they wonder why it doesn't work.

BabyDubsEverywhere · 17/09/2010 17:18

how do you know that your DD was copying the woman and not her child, out of interst?

carriedababi · 17/09/2010 17:21

beacuse the little boy was doing it and getting told off.

so dd just stood there watching.

then when she hit him back, then dd went and hot someone else with a spade too.
straight away.

she NEVER hits.

1st time shes done that

it won't be the last, carrie Grin trust me on that.

I do think it shows an amazing lack of brains to tell a child not to do something by doing it to them!

NO hitting

No biting

NO SHOUTING!!!!

[boggle]

I look at these people and I think - how do you not see how silly that is.
