to have reported a neighbours un-taxed car

I have this morning reported a neighbours car for not having a valid tax disc. And I am secretly hoping the car is either clamped or towed away and crushed!

This bloody car blocks peoples driveways and parks on the verge outside my next door neighbours house all the time and is so close to the end of my dropped kerb I cant always get my off the driveway.

My DH has been over to ask the owners to move the car recently and the girl told him to fuck off or she would put the windows through on our car!

I did it to our neighbour. I wouldnt ahve had he not been such a nob about parking - always lecturing us about which space was ours, even though they are not allocated and he and his wife were allowed 2 of the 4 spaces for thier cars Hmm. The final straw was when he took the car out and put cones out so that no-one could park in the space he had left.

They may have listed the car as SORN so the DVLA may not know that it is untaxed and being used.

I would have done exactly the same as you (and I have in the past).

well at least its not just you then...be careful people can get really pissed off at stuff like that.

I know that i have been known too...(not violent but angry notes etc..)

silentcatastrophe · 17/09/2010 12:37

If it has a SORN it shouldn't be on the road. It's an OFF ROAD NOTICE!

zingzillachinchilla · 17/09/2010 13:29

They would have got an automatic penalty notice if they haven't renewed their road tax, so you needn't have shopped 'em. But understand entirely why you did, and would have been tempted myself

MisterW · 17/09/2010 13:35

zingzilla, they wouldn't have got a penalty notice if they've listed it as SORN or if they haven't actually registered it at that address.

zingzillachinchilla · 17/09/2010 13:42

Good point MisterW, wasn't considering the SORN

Yanbu, they sound like a pita! There were 3 untaxed cars in my street a few months ago, I'm not sure if someone reported them or they sent someone round to check but one morning I went out and they had all been clamped!
