the next time we go out because regardless of which seat we put him in he manages to get out the shoulder straps....and I have tried a lot of seats!!!

The seat he has now is the best one ever but he cabn still get out of the shoulder straps.

ChippingIn- yes, I quite agree. Not sure how the police would enforce it though. Surely they would rather a child is safely secured in their seat than loose in the car?

I've tried getting cross and it doesn't work. I've tried THE stare, I've tried yelling. So far the only thing that works is stopping on the hard shoulder and refusing to move until he gets back in his seat and stays there.

That's not really practical and is down right dangerous. Plus it's only a matter of time before the police warn me off.

For the moment I restrict driving on motorways to when DS is tired because he's usually asleep within two minutes. On other roads we practise him being good. It's slow going.
