surly they should be better quality then this? I would complain but I've had to stitch his school crest on the pocket.

Yes, tell it to them. You can still complain, by the way - though if you want to send it back you would have to remove the crest and be without a blazer, but the fact that you have stitched on a crest does not void your statutory rights.

I'm just annoyed that I now have to go and hunt for 2 buttons that are the same size and colour, then sew them back on. There was no spare on the inside, we still have 1 button but the chances of finding one the same are titchy.

I've had a few niggles with John Lewis lately. I ordered some luggage from them for DHs business trip, paid for named day delivery 2 days before the trip, plenty of time etc. They still couldn't get it to me in time. One of the days I waited in all day for them not to bring it. They knew they wouldn't be able to - they hadn't despatched in time - but didn't bother to ring me and tell me to not bother, instead sent me an email saying to stay in until the courier had arrived (automatically generated but still).

Rang and complained that night, got a refund for named day delivery and £10 goodwill. They said they'd put it on express priority delivery the next day so waited in till midday, it didn't arrive, went on the courier's website, not on the van. Once again, could have waited in all day to no avail.

DH went on business trip without luggage. The day he left it turned up, I refused delivery in order to trigger a refund. Credit card statement turned up. No refund.

Rang them up to ask where my refund was, they finally processed it.

So not only did they repeatedly fail to deliver my product on time and communicate adequately about said problems, they couldn't even process a simple refund when I finally gave up in disgust.

Not impressed.

Oh, this winds me up something fearful [see, I even use ridiculous phrases when talking about it].

My version is that it doesn't matter where I buy trousers, if they cost more than £15 the hem WILL come down within the first 2 weeeks. Why? Why do they do such a shoddy job?

BlingLoving · 13/09/2010 14:22

Oh, and yes, complain. A lot. And loudly.

I'll take him in after school. He had to wear his blazer as it's the only one he has. It looks silly, just the string hanging down where the buttons should be (I really should have cut them off Blush). It was £21 so not incredibly cheap.
