And why are they all blubbing? She's only gone to stay with Aunt Sal in Streatham, or wherever.

YANBU. It was rubbish. It was very odd, the pub burns down and then, all of a sudden, I'm off? What? Ronnie saying Peggy is like a Mum and that she's preggers? Sam getting her nails done to cheer herself up - even thought she has no job/money? Where were Sam and Roxy's babies? Catching some zzz's with Phil? Why was Billy the only dirty one? Oh dear, I appear to be in plot loophole rant.....

Lynette I guess because she's not coming back, she's supposedly retiring for good to spend time with her family...

tinkletinkle we were doing that too... Peggy was made up, hair done, clean clothes - I mean, surely upstairs was a bit of a state and she can't have borrowed the clothes or shoes off of the girls or Pat Billy was the only one filthy - it was indeed, a poorly made episode with worse that normal acting & 'staging'... dreadful. The babies... they're never there - most convenient wee things to have in soapland, never need looking after babysitting and just pop in for the occasional cuddle. Lily is the only baby that actually seems to be a part of things....

I think they use subliminal messaging because I can't actually work out why I watch it

YANBU what a crap ending for Peggy. Of all the endings for Peggy to have had she goes to stay with her sister Sal.

I did like the Horror movie touch though when Sam Mitchell cried. Scary stuff!

Wasn't the pub insured? Glad to see the back of Peggy - I really don't like Barbara Windsor since she said NO to an autograph when my twin brother and I were about 7 or 8 and we bumped into her on holiday.

It was so utterly shite and unbelievable that the morning after a major fire complete with hilarious ott explosions and all sorts, she would be up and about fresh as a daisy and just randimnly decide to abandon her entire family taking niothing with her. She and everyone else involved should have been in hospital. Peggy should have been sedated at the very least. It was ludicrous.

correct me if i'm wrong, but i don't think you're allowed to walk around in buildings that are fire damaged like that. not without a hard hat at least.

She'd never get a hard hat over that wig, it would have to balance precariously on top.

Why wasn't Phil arrested too ?

I was really hoping for- expecting Peggy to be killed off properly.

They are leaving her part open for her as she returns in 2012 for something or other!

I keep saying I'm going to stop watching eastenders, it just gets more laughable. Why don't they do post-mortems there? Surely if someone drops dead in the street or gets found dead in a river there would be a post-mortem to find the cause of death?! With their budget you'd think they could afford to do some proper research!

Also how on earth does a former bent copper manage to pull strings with the prison service?! Its just ridiculous these days!

i thought it was ok, i cried a bit (but then am v hormonal) and thought steve mcfadden was good. bit annoyed that ronnie is 5 months up the pole, surely it'd be getting quite obvious by now? but agree that it would have been much better if she'd refused to leave or died trying to get phil out.

IMO Peggy should have died in the fire, that would have led the way for Gawwwgus Grant to come back for the funeral, he and Jane could then get back together and fleece Ian Beale out of all his money!

Oh and also Sam sodding Mitchell should have died in the fire also, I fucking detest Daniella Westbrook with a passion, she can't act, the other Sam was so much better!

ArseHolio I have to agree with you on the fact that EE should give me a job, I would get rid of that skank Westbrook straight away (have her killed off, so she could never be "brought back for a special story line")

I think you ought to write a script involving a chair saw massacre in which Sam Mitchell, Fatboy, the blue hair streak twatess, the bitch that used to live with Stacey slater and max brannings new bit all getting slashed to bits up by Phil in a crack house defending his last rock.

See that's where they went wrong with Lucas he could have been a lot more dangerous, I have to agree with all of the characters you have said apart from Max Branning's bit (I cant remember her characters name - I am calling her Tanya Turner she seems like she is going to be fun character.
