in being amused by my DCs fighting?

DD (4) and DS (18m) have spent the last hour fighting over the chair by the telly.
It is HILARIOUS!

DD will forget and get off the chair to get something. The minute her back is turned DS will make a run for the chair. He will make it, and then DD will attempt to remove him. DS will grip onto arms of chair and scream. DD will then attempt to move DS sideways, eventually succeeding to squeeze onto the chair with him. DS will then get fed up and get off the chair.

5 minutes later this will be repeated again, and again and again.

It is so funny - and I have been chuckling to myself for the last hour! AIBU to be sitting here amused, or should I be trying to step in and calm the situation/instil order?

PMSL - YANBU as no-one is actually getting hurt and sometimes a battle of wills teaches compromise. They are probably secretly enjoying the 'game' as much as you are Grin

I wish I could be amused; instead my blood pressure soars, DC scream loud enough to pierce my eardrums and (sigh) blood and bruises follow in due course (not inflicted by me, honest).

Tbh I think my calm was due to the fact that my brain had been melted by excessive viewing of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

YANBU, but if you could put some of your sense of humour in an envelope and send it over here, I'd be most grateful.

It wears a bit thin when they're still doing it at 8 yo and 10 yo let me tell you AngryGrin

I spose I am still in the 'isn't it cute how they interact' phase (as DS is only 18mo). I'm sure it will become very old soon!!!

Admittedly, if I drink enough wine I can look on with bemusement like OP did Grin.
