This thread has got me sobbing. I'm supposed to be going out soon & I now have a face like a deformed potato! Thanks!

My son was in NiCU on a ventilator for a week, then in SCBU for another two weeks, this song made me cry at the time and still has the power to now, despite him being a very healthy one year old.

First night of your life curled up on your own. Looking at you now you would never know.

hide,
ds due date is still up for debate with health proffesionals. they guestimate he was between 8-3wks prem.

dd came into the world 2 days early strong and healthy as an ox, tough cookie, never had more than a cold!

yes he had a hair cut yesterday, the hairdresser didnt pay attention to my instruction and i cried myself to sleep

I hate that song. Coldplay without the 'charm'. Hmm

AnxiousLand · 08/09/2010 09:12

So pleased for you and your son's success xx

I am now also sobbing like a baby. My baby girls didn't make it, and only one even got to NICU, but I will never forget the feeling rushing through the hospital to see her every day with a feeling of complete joy that we would see her and absolute dread of what might be going wrong today at the same time.

Crying can be good though, so thankyou.

CardyMow · 08/09/2010 13:39

. My preemie was born at 34+5, and is now a 5ft1inch 12yo girl....must remember how this song takes me back to her first weeks in SCBU next time she's slamming doors because I won't give her more money. Grin.

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 08/09/2010 14:01

I am so sorry to hear that midori, sending you a very unmumsnet hugg x

oh, am in floods.

midori, I remember falling apart in a swimming pool changing cubicle when I heard Coldplay, "Fix You" after we lost dd1. Crying is good though. I think she's why I'm crying now, though she was never ever going to make it.

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 08/09/2010 18:36

oh fix you gets me too, for other reasons though, very emotive song.

thoughts are with you all xx xx
