Someone I know moaning, apparently "extremely pissed off about being given the wrong date for an operation". His reason for moaning is that he couldn't get as pissed as he wanted to at a wedding he was, basically slagging the NHS off saying how inefficient they were.

I have typed this reponse and I will bow to your opinion as to whether I should post it and then obviously de-friend him immediately Grin.

"Oh yes what a bummer for you. Why don't you try moving to the States or indeed any other country that does not provide any kind of accessible healthcare without making you choose between paying your rent/mortgage/bills/eating or a life saving operation. No offence but try thinking about it like that and it might give you a bit of perspective. A real shame you couldn't get as pissed as you wanted on this particular occasion, what selfish arses those underpaid NHS staff are!"

So dare I? It is all typed and ready to go.

I agree with you, but I wouldn't post it.

The NHS is free. Other countries pay taxes and have to pay for their medical insurance. The Uk is very lucky. Envy

YABU - waiting for an operation can be stressful and unpleasant. Have some compassion.

chasingrainbows · 01/09/2010 23:29

esme - i agree again but to post it would not be worth the aggro - your "friend" sounds like a bit of an arse so dont expend the energy - just bock him.

chasingrainbows · 01/09/2010 23:29

typo - block him

Esmediamond · 01/09/2010 23:30

I never said it was free. That was said in another post, although I do agree with Valium.

I didn't post it in the end and am glad I asked on here before I did, though I am still of the same opinion.

And I am not completely heartless I do understand that waiting for an operation can be stressful but lets face it he can't be that sick if his main concern is that he had to reduce his alcohol intake at a wedding the night before!

"Vitriol" and "Hate". Neither of those words used by me.

Just got on my nerves a bit. Used to work for the NHS and hope to again after bring up my dc.

I think you should post this instead:

"Consider yourself lucky you're being allowed a cock enlargement on the NHS"

and then de-friend him Wink

Rockbird · 01/09/2010 23:36

IWhere did I say you used them? I said 'people' not 'you'. But your smug draft response didn't convey 'getting on your nerves'. If that was the intention I don't know what you'd do if someone really pissed you off. But hey, nice to see the caring side of the NHS come out...

Esmediamond · 01/09/2010 23:43

Ok Rockbird, really my thread is not something you need to be taking this seriously, I am certainly not. I know I didn't use those words so I didn't feel they were at all relevant to my inital post, wondered why you used them. I don't actually work for the NHS just now so luckily no-one will be subjected to my uncaring nature.

I like your response Laurie a lot more succint that my original rather long winded rant.

Don't post it, you'll look like a right knobber if you do!
