I just go to cheap stationary shops, buy scrapbooks for a quid or so a time and use them,. What's in them is what matters. Smile

Boots sell photo albums which you could use. They are the sticky ones so you just lift off the plastic and stick the item there.

Or you could get a scrapbooking folder. They have sheets of paper which slide into plastic covers. These are the 'professional', acid free, yadda, yadda .... type which add up to quite a bit of money.

Me - I just got the Boots ones!!! (They were on Buy 1 Get 1 free a few weeks ago, don't know if they still are).

You could post in the arts and craft section. My DS's nursery made up a scrap book on plain paper and a normal ring binder of his 4 years before school. It was lovely.

There are loads on Ebay under "Memory book". A bit of advice - opt for one with acid free pages and use an indelible ink pen to keep items at their best and know what you wrote about them in 20 years time. :)

I have those folders with pages of attached plastic wallets inside. Easy to shove it all in and good for school reports / certificates etc because you can read both sides. They have always loved looking through them and because they aren't fragile it's never been a problem. They now contain GCSE and AS certificates!

Paperchase.

Last week I bought 2 large boxes, 2 notebooks and 2 picture frames for the daughter's of my husband's work colleague whose wife of 15 years was diagnosed with terminal cancer. The kids are 11 and 8/9, and know about their mum.

The boxes seemed like a good idea for putting "Mum" stuff in, but would serve the OP's purpose equally well. It also means bulkier stuff that your dc makes doesn't get squished.

I bought a sketch book from hobbycraft, as the scrap books that existed when I was a kid seem to have ceased to exist.

It's quite a nice hardback, A4 size, and just about perfect for all the cards ect we got when she was born.

I bought a gorgeous ring bound scrapbook in Paperchase. Going to use photo corners and double-sided sticky tape to put a mix of stuff in. Because the pages are paper (black), I've bought a silver pen to write with.
