More of a should I/shouldn't I have a big clear up?

DP is due home late tonight after working/socialising away on and off for near enough 3 weeks. In a caring/loving moment this morning I fully intended to make the house spotless after DS went to bed but am now knackered and quite frankly, can't be arsed.

So come on, what should I do? get off my lazy arse and clean or just stay on here and chill?

Sit snd chill.

It Sunday a day of rest.

fryalot · 29/08/2010 20:24

how much of his away time was work and how much socialising?

It seems unfair for him to walk into a load of housework if he's been really busy and working hard for the family.

However... if he's been out on the piss, let him bloody well clean up while you have a rest

Wash the dishes, sling any laundry in a basket somewhere/in the machine, wipe the surfaces and if it really needs it shove a hoover round. Oh, and straighten the bed Grin

Won't take you more than half an hour then you can crash, and you'll feel better for it :)

to be fair squonk much of it has been working (fitting a bathroom in a mate's house).

However, this is my hols, am back at work on wed and I have had sole care of DS for 3 weeks. I'm not expecting him to do the housework, if he takes DS off somewhere tomorrow, I'll happily do it. Its just that I get to DS's bedtime and feel completely done in!

(as it seems to be 50/50 I've not moved as yet, but I think I'll give it to 10 posts and go with the majority)

Damn and blast! Not enough responses for a clear decision!

Think I'll take your advice ThatDamnDog tbh it's an easy one to take as the laundry and dishes are done, just the hoovering and bedding down to sort.

(is it up to 10 yet?)

Do what you want to do. Your decision should not be influenced by the fact he is coming home.

FerminaUrbinoDaza · 29/08/2010 20:56

I'd do half an hour of 'essentials' leave it at that too. It IS Sunday after all.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 29/08/2010 21:00

I'd make the living room presentable for crashing out in, and clear the bed of any debris (DH's pet hate is having to clear the bed before he can get in it!)

By 'presentable' I don't mean dust and hoover (men don't notice that anyway), just clear the surfaces and put away any clutter quickly.

Or just crash out Smile.

ThatDamnDog · 29/08/2010 21:18

WhatsWrongWithYou - debris on the bed is my favourite trick - pile all DP's clean clothes on it so he has to put them away before bed!

I have been known to pile stuff on his side then get in my own side and go to sleep Grin

Hope you're not overdoing it larks!

larks35 · 29/08/2010 21:35

I've not over-done anything. My initial grand plan was to scrub all the downstairs floor but have ditched that. I've cleared toys and random stuff, hovered up the eternal crumbs and fluff and made the bed. Am now enjoying a glass of red.

Thanks for your input MNers, especially squonk for your attempt to sway the poll Grin
