My fil always comes to our house, takes on of his contact lenses out then puts it on a windowsill or other inappropriate surface.

Just before he leaves he then licks it and puts it back in his eye v

He announces both these things.

I know IABU but I find it really offensive, although don't know why.

I have only had one eye infection, and that was when I wore soft lenses. My two cats used to slink around when I woke up and I would give them both a good stroke and fuss and then put my lenses in without washing my hands. So that explained that.

I have worn GPs for 20 years now. They're Finger-Licking good!

I don't really object to him licking his own lenses - each to their own etc. It's the putting them on MY windowsill that I object to.
