I only asked a question that I don't know the answer too, sorry if that isn't now allowed, I never once said the money shouldn't be given, just asked where it came from.

Hate facebook cut and paste bollox. I think we should give aid to other countries that need it, and we do often. We NEED our army to keep us Safe and who the hell do some of you think distributes that aid??? errrr our forces!?!

My husbands company donated a million pounds worth of medical supplys to haiti, only for it to be sent back by the red cross as nobody was able to distribute it! The army stepped in and did the job! So I'd say they are both just as important!

I can't remember where I read it Vicar, but there's some psychological theory thingy that says people feel less and less empathy the futher away the person in distress is geographically and socially to them.

We did our fist shebox appeal last year & it got sent back for not having the right list of donations needed - sweets should have been wrapped singular that sort of thing!!!!

We need an army & we need charity donations as they are - seperate.

2shoes - im not having a pop - but i would really email your mp if you want to know the answer, they should know exactly where the money is coming from, but its probable that its already in a tin marked foreign aid or something.

how much did the NHS waste on outside gurus last year? it was on the news last week...governments waste money all the time.

if somebody posts a fb status i disagree with then i think hard about why i am fb 'friends' with that person. if they're a genuine friend then i would wait and have a face to face convo or online realtime chat with them. if they're not a genuine friend i'd probably delete them from fb.

i don't agree that we should stop all foreign aid just because we are a bit short of money at home - no matter how hard things are here we are still not literally dying of poverty the way people in other countries are.

the argument about HOW the money gets where it's needed is another one, which is good to have but saying don't give anything to anybody because you can't be sure it'll get through is defeatist.

Yeah, um a lot needed doing there. Or are you saying the Americna government is so corrupt that Obama and G Bush were pockting the extra cash? Because that would make you look mighty stupid. The US gov has a lot to answer for but that is a joke.
