well am I? Posts all through the night......1am, 2am, 3am. Is there a large vampire community on MN or are you all in foreign lands?

Don't sleep, DD is up half the night!

Katey1010 · 26/08/2010 15:24

Canada here. Will check out the overseas thread, thanks! I come here for sensible UK advice rather that scary North American advice (midwives are witches, homebirth is crazy, don't eat or drink anything while pregnant, just in case).

Katey1010 · 26/08/2010 15:28

Bossofme, where is the overseas thread, I got lost? Confused

TheLimeFairy · 26/08/2010 15:40

Feeding DC4 and then can't get back to sleep brings me here in the night!

TheBossofMe · 27/08/2010 02:34

Overseas thread is here - in fact, there is a whole section on Living Overseas. Its a bit quiet on the thread right now - lots of expats on home leave, from what I can tell, but nearly always someone there in the wee hours UK time!

You are right I should go to bed.

Spent the morning with DD and GDD helped with house work shopping.

Spent the afternoon with MIL who has dementia did her shopping.

Came home played with DS bath bed.

Evening with DH.

The night belongs to me.I sit here to enjoy the pleasure of being alone. Shame its nearly morning. I fear if I shut my eyes it will all start again.

Kathyjelly · 27/08/2010 02:47

Sometimes no sleep is just sod's law. DS is two, has a cold and kept me up half of last night. Now he's soundly asleep and I've been counting sheep for the last two hours. I was shattered before I started but it just won't come.

So me & the cat are having some quality time. Smile

caramelwaffle · 27/08/2010 02:58

UK here.

I am a Vampire.

Canada here too. Haven't found a single forum here that is not complete about very very sincere and idealistic parenting.

Me, I want some no holds barred straight talking from Mumsnet.

FidgetPie · 27/08/2010 04:19

Just finished feeding my 4 month old, so winding down (using iPhone in bed), before going back to sleep.

Mumsnet has been my middle of the night saviour (although sods law is that DD tends to wake at 3am -just in time for the website's 20min shutdown!).

Katey1010 · 27/08/2010 04:41

Thanks for the tip Bossofme. I have now found overseas and will hang out there soon!. You're right Tweety everyone is very sincere in Canada and NOT AMUSED by my British sense of humour. I'm West Coast Canada, whereabouts are you?

fromheretomaternity · 27/08/2010 04:53

I'm in the UK... 7 months pregnant and not sleeping so well, thanks partly to a VERY kicky baby. What else can I do at 5am? Can't even do much needed clean of kitchen as will wake everyone else up...

sunnydelight · 27/08/2010 06:47

I'm in Sydney and am horribly addicted to MN Blush I'll often have a browse while I'm having my lunch so in the middle of the night for you.

tjacksonpfc · 27/08/2010 07:36

I'm in UK but suffer with back problems which wake me up in the middle of the night quite often.

So what better way to spend the time waiting for the next dose of morphine to kick in than being on mn Grin

tweetymum · 28/08/2010 23:22

Katey1010, Edmonton. Are you in Vancouver or the island? I take every opportunity to demonstrate the Brit sense of humour (and its never appreciated Blush

onimolap · 28/08/2010 23:26

Intermittent insomniac. Just could not sleep last night.

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 29/08/2010 02:25

stay up to late talking to a good old friend on msn.

i dont sleep dd has damaged me for life.

sixpercenttruejedi · 29/08/2010 02:29

I would get some sleep if only you'd keep the noise down Angry

sixpercenttruejedi · 29/08/2010 02:39

Blush It was a joke didn't mean to kill the thread.
The noise doesn't really bother me.
I have earplugs.

nannynobnobs · 29/08/2010 02:48

I'm just being idle. DH is away for the weekend and the bed'll be cold and even though I'm tired I won't drop off. Been sipping freezer-chilled vodka and watching endless TV, and ordering things off Ebay. The DDs will still come in to wake me early, I know... But I'm still here, more fool me Hmm

SurreyDad · 29/08/2010 02:52

I'm at work waiting for hometime.

LadyRabbit · 29/08/2010 02:58

Extreme insomnia is just another little gift of late pregnancy.

skintbint · 29/08/2010 04:09

i'm in alberta

although i like that the feminist board is the last one to shut up shop in the uk. underground indeed. Grin

Katey1010 · 29/08/2010 04:24

I'm on the island (Vancouver Island). Example of humour that has recently got me in trouble... "British Columbia, the most beautiful place on earth" (television ad). I said, "has no one here been to Bali?" Didn`t go down well.

However I also have late pregnancy insomnia so am posting all the time!!!

skintbint · 29/08/2010 04:43
Grin i would have laughed.

we occasionally go to a local comedy club, but have to sit next to a lifer so that we know when to laugh...

but i do love it here. Grin
