Grin in a raoul moat stylee

OP posts:
wukter · 25/08/2010 21:29

They probably didn't look back on the CCTV footage until they found the cat in the bin and wondered how he got there.
They are hardly monitoring their bins in Real Time Rapid Response Grin
I do think it was sinister though, what drives a person to commit an act of cruelty on a helpless creature on a whim?

southeastastra · 25/08/2010 21:29

agentzigzag i just find it funny in a stupid, probably humourless to you way

just ignore the thread, from the cartoons i've seen today in the papers, i'm not the only one.

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 25/08/2010 21:30

some people are cruel :(

SingingTunelessly · 25/08/2010 21:30

No onepiece, they found the cat in the bin then wondering how it got there watched the CCTV. Am still Sad about how anyone can make a joke thread about this.

Vallhala · 25/08/2010 21:32

The Protection of Animals Act 1911 1 (1) (a) should be applied. I don't see why the Police are struggling to identify the crime personally.

I stand by what I have said earlier, which is that I would be quite willing to administer some bin-dumping myself, just to see how the woman liked it.

I've just posted on Pets details of an 18 month old dog who had rocks attached to him and then was thrown into a Lancs canal. It was remarked there that it's very sad that, awful as the "cat story" is, it appears to be receiving more publicity and public outrage than the deliberate drowning of a terrier.

Oh, and btw, the OP just isn't funny.

spikeycow · 25/08/2010 21:32

Part of it is relief the cat lived probably.

AgentZigzag · 25/08/2010 21:34

Oh, do you not want to know my opinion if I disagree with you south? Sad Wink

onepieceoflollipop · 25/08/2010 21:36

That is Sad Valhalla (re the terrier)

In our city - as in most other cities - we have had a number of murders of human beings over recent months. I have not seen even one of these commented on on mnet. (not that they should have been, just the fact that this situation of the cat has received so much attention)

violethill · 25/08/2010 21:37

I'm just Shock Shock that she is apparently 45, same age as me.

I thought she was at least late 50s from the footage.

Goblinchild · 25/08/2010 21:37

'You really do feel strongly that this was 'only a cat ffs', strong enough to comment on the other two threads I've seen about it and now start a 'joke' thread.'

I thought that as soon as I saw this post, and thought 'Oh, it's her again'
Doesn't this sort of crap belong on Facebook?
Do you also like the YouTube stunts where little furry things get set on fire?

southeastastra · 25/08/2010 21:39

huh?

OP posts:
AgentZigzag · 25/08/2010 21:42

The only furry things I like to see set on fire on youtube is when some twat sets their farts alight and inadvertenly singes their nackersack

lifeinlimbo · 25/08/2010 21:52

its funny in a 'sureal comedy of the unexpected' way

Vallhala · 25/08/2010 22:01

Yeah, hysterical.

Perhaps you'd like me to post the pictures of the dog drowned in the canal with the bags still tied round his neck and laugh at that too. Hmm

lemonysweet · 25/08/2010 22:04

what lifeinlimbo said.
of course its awful the cat was in there so long, but the footage itself is funny.

and yeah, it is appalling that the cat receives so much attention when so many humans do not. but thats the internet for you...

thelunar66 · 25/08/2010 22:09

She is only 45???? Wow.

I look fab for my age then!

Snobear4000 · 25/08/2010 23:00

Was that 45 years or 45 stone?

Oh no, I'll have to go back in time and undo this comment, before an army of obese sick people pour vitriol on me from their troughs.

Did I mention Catholicism? Whatever, they should have let that disabled chap onto the train in Manchester, regardless of him being one of them foreign types. Was he allowed to film it, though, in all reality? Lucky he wasn't at the school gates. Oh gosh I'm mixing my threads up horridly here, must be the Rioja.

BTW some of my best friends are lesbians. Including my darkie mate, Vin.

AncientStarlight · 25/08/2010 23:08

Other countries have picked it up too, unsurprisingly:

SolidGoldBrass · 25/08/2010 23:13

It is kind of wierdly funny. Bearing in mind that the cat is unharmed - and (not that I throw cats in bins all that often myself, I'm far too busy pulling the wings off pixies and telling kids there's no Father Xmas - oh and laughing at all the brain donors on Facebook who have taken this up with the same slobbering glee that they circulate that vom-inducing poem about the battered child and threaten to, er, batter anyone who laughs at that) I would, myself, have thought that a cat could get out of a bin without much trouble so the woman probably didn't intend it to die or anything.

foxytocin · 25/08/2010 23:16

can you imagine what an arse she must be feeling like and deservedly so?

SlartyBartFast · 25/08/2010 23:19

she must be crazy.. she seems quite normal and she works in a bank ffs

however i bet more people are up in arms about this than if a child had been put in a bin...
it's true,

ThatVikRinA22 · 25/08/2010 23:20

cats dont have suckers on their paws...scaling slippery plastic isnt among their talents as far as im aware.

if it had not been found before bin emptying id would have ended up in a crusher.

she works for a bank. im commissioning a very large bin for wankers bankers

edam · 25/08/2010 23:20

Would you, SGB? Wheelie bins are deep with smooth sides.

It was clearly a deliberate, malicious act of cruelty and the police are talking crap about it not being an offence, as Vallhala's pointed out. They are just shoving it off to the RSPCA. Who I do hope WILL ensure there is a prosecution.

edam · 25/08/2010 23:22

Hope she gets the boot for bringing her employers into disrepute. Scum.

ipodmama · 25/08/2010 23:26

I DID IT Grin
