to take DD to the supermarket in her sleepsuit?

DD is 16 months old, although looks about 6 months due to her small size. I haven't got around to getting her dressed yet today and can't find the energy to do so. However, I have to go out to the supermarket to pick some things up for my neighbour. Should I really get off my arse find some enthusiasm and dress her first, or will I just look like a mum who dresses her PFB for comfort?

I think clothes for babies are overated (IMHO). DD was in baby-gros all the times nearly until she was 6 months and then I gave in to peer pressure. Now she is crawling and moving around, I have gone back to sleepsuits a lot as they allow her to get about, unlike all the skirts and dresses people have given us. I try and put her in more colourful ones in the day, and do occasionally put her in trousers/dungerees, but in general, babygros are cheap, easy to wash, get on and off etc.

Just think, in no time at all you have to dress them in clothes. Maximise the time you don't!

YADNBU!

FrameyMcFrame · 24/08/2010 23:27

yanbu, sleepsuits is what I'd be wearing if it was socially acceptable.

MiladyDeSummer · 24/08/2010 23:34

YANBU, if I could get away with it this would be me at the checkout with my trolley.

(With a head and limbs obviously)

They sell sleepsuits for women in Primark! DD2 (13) has just got a couple.

If it wasn't for the fact that surgery has buggered up my internal temperature guage and I swelter in anything more than a cotton vest top I'd be buying some for me too!

(Disclaimer: At the age of 45 I wouldn't wear them to the supermarket though). :o

Jumpsuits are like great big romper suits..Grin

I've tried their pyjamas, it's the fabric I think, it's all wrong. DD is fine with them though.

The fleecy stuff is nice to wear initially but makes you clammy and not knowing if you're cold or hot.

I could wear such things as a teen though. With zips and feet even. I was bought some long after I had lost my innocence and I loved them Grin

Cotton sleepsuit

Milady, DDs sleepsuits are fleecy but this one is cotton. Has no sleeves mind, but an alternative perhaps.

MiladyDeSummer · 25/08/2010 00:31

It looks good to me thanks Vallhala, cotton is lovely.

With my microwavable slipper-boots I'll be quite the fashion-plate Grin

Cheers Smile

I've actually got a primark sleepsuit Vallhala, it's navy with small polkadots.

I imagined I would look tres chic and 70s in it but unfortunately because I am a shortarse I just looked like an overgrown toddler.
