I've had a bugger of a day. DS has tanked his a levels (hey, who said everyone gets As these days - not in our house!) and now has disappeared off with his Totally Unsuitable Friend on what looked to me like a spliff and booze bender in the rain. Meanwhile younger DS who has Asperger's and possible ADHD has been kicking off so much that by 8am today I had had a total mummy meltdown and screamed at him like a fishwife, which of course brings out the best in him, ahem. Took the younger kids to toy story 3 this afternoon and just slept through it I was so knackered. The house is a bombsite and I have just had to cancel this weekend's visitors as I truly cannot cope with them. DH is being a twat and to top it all I think all this crying, yelling and ranting on my part might be the beginning of the menopause. I feel pathetically sorry for myself...

Hello everyone, thank you thank you THANK YOU, it all really, really helped. Also, secondcoming, congrats on:

  1. the new baby
  2. v v funny post

Though I can imagine in RL it probably wasn't that much of a laugh. You were good to fess up to the wee coming from your toddler - was it not tempting to turn a very blind eye?

Update:
DH has cleaned the kitchen amid much huffing and puffing. I just ignored it and at one stage even read the paper while he swept the kitchen floor for the first time in about a year. Perfect.
DS "the genius" is going to a festival this weekend, no he hasn't got a ticket cos that would have meant he'd earned some money and saved it up (not he) but is going to climb through the fence or something. On a more positive note, he is going to FE college to do a vocational course for a couple of years, which hopefully will allow for some growing-up time.
Master Asperger is marginally calmer, I have had a reasonable amount of sleep and yes, weird truffle-style chocs and a small bottle of cider (it was all we had) did the trick!
Big hugs to you all, thanks girls. I reeeallly appreciate it.

First time Dh had swept kitchen floor in a year, I should say, KF has been swept by me the odd zillion times, obv...
