for telling me it serves me right for not breast feeding.Angry

When I rang to report a power failure at home this morning I said I was concerned that 5 month old lo would be needing a feed soon and I had no way of boiling water.

She then had the unmitigated (love that word) gall to say "well how was I to know that" when I explained that lo is fostered with us.

No, she wouldn't have known but didn't excuse her horrible manner.

I've rang back and asked to speak to a manager who will ring me back "within 3 working days"Angry

Call back and complain to her supervisor, then follow-up in writing. Demand more than an apology. Disgraceful.

Shock awful

From their website:

"You can make a complaint to us in a number of different ways ? in person at our offices, over the telephone, by email or by letter ... By telephone ? please call our dedicated complaints line free, also on 0800 781 8848."

"If we receive your complaint before 4pm on a normal working day, we will attempt to resolve it by the end of the next working day."

So they haven't even followed their own complaints procedure.

Did you phone the complaints number? If not, I would do so now.

I know I would get very angry/upset if I rang them so I'm sending an an email instead.

The plus side of this will be that I will have a record of what I say and what they reply.

Thanks for that link tribpot.

Don't allow them to say you're as bad as each other. She's an employee, and a representative of her company. You are a customer. Do you have her name and the exact time of the call?

chipmonkey · 18/08/2010 12:22

Good God! What an awful thing to say to someone!

AlgebraRocksMySocks · 18/08/2010 12:23

OMG!!! Shock

I am very pro-BF, but no matter what your reason for FF, what she said was horrible!

I wouldn't even say something like that to my best mate or a family member let alone a customer! Jeeeeez.

She could have been speaking to someone who has had a mastectomy. Very thoughtless and wrong.
