....as they all say I did, they why didn't I get the fecking job?!?

Just having a rant....for the last few weeks I've been on 5 job interviews, all for jobs I could do standing on my head. CV is great, interview is fantastic, yet I don't get the bloody job. Why is this?! Are they just saying I did "ever so well" in my interview to make me feel better!?!

Humph!!!!

//rant over.....

Fair enough Just offering a suggestion which the OP could take or leave.
Just saying what has helped in my expierence.

I know it is tight out there (I'm probably going to be in the same postion before Christmas tbh)that's why I would as much ammunition as I could muster for my next interview.

spot the missing word!!!

why I would WANT as much ammunition as I could muster for my next interview.

Sorry, but what they've said to you is a standard rejection phrase. Not to say you didn't interview well, but that's what they will have said to everyone. In the end, the successful candidate can be chosen on a fairly flimsy basis if there were a lot of people of equal ability. Companies often pick someone because they think their personality will fit in best with the ethos of the office etc. If they gave decent feedback to all applicants it would take up a lot of their time.

have you called and asked for in depth feedback? any good company should offer it.

As an interviewer, I can tell you that the bar is very high now, with so many people seeking work, so the lots of people inteviewing well is often true.

Hairy traingle. This is what I have suggested several times and have told of how useful it could be to her but I've been more or less told that the OP was probably marvellous and no one has time to do that!

Even though one potential employer spent an hour over coffee with me telling me where I went wrong! Ok Ok!! I know that is an extreme expierenece but even a 5 min conversation like the one I had telling me to look out for other jobs with his company over the next few months was really useful. If I hadn't got that feedback I wouldn't have had the confidence to have a second shot at being interviewed by them!
