...Or am I the only one who is starting to lose her sense of all that is reasonable humour where her children are concerned...? So far it has been a fairly three weeks, and it has taken that amount of time really for my two school aged DCs to unwind but by golly, now they are bored and totally unable to focus on anything for very long (so many toys/play opportunities, absolutely no motivation or patience with each otherSad)...(and I'm probably not at my most receptive tbh as there's been a lot going on in those three weeks...)...and they are starting to take chunks out of each other and become to seriously annoying...SadConfusedSad

Is anyone else out there counting the days til the start of term, or is it just me. I know I am being a bit unreasonable because every moment with them is precious, but realistically every moment also feels like a bit of a chore - for today anyway. Would love some encouragement or at least a bit of commiseration with someone...!! MPDBiscuit

I think everyone has days like that during hols. I have had wonderful time with my dd over the hols thus far and have thoroughly enjoyed having her back; not having to rush out the door every morning etc etc. BUT today have been bored out of my tiny mind!

Mine go back tomorrow after 7 weeks. I shall miss them (I think). They are going into P6, S1, S3 and S5 so quite different from last year. Work school goes back next Monday, so I shall be back to school a bit too this week.

YABU. I hate term time. It is just constant stress for me as ds has ASD and really struggles at school.

So much so that I am seriously considering home schooling him when we move in a couple of months time.

We are all a lot happier in our family during the holidays.

6 weeks is just perfect for me at the moment (I'm a teacher and I'm getting all the early pregnancy tiredness thing out of the way while I can spend half the day asleep - should really congratulate myself on the impeccable timing skills there considering it's taken 3 years to GET pregnant)!

It's definitely easier to have long Summer holidays in countries where there actually is a Summer! Mine have 8 weeks (Oz) and I love it - endless days of sunshine, swimming, days out to lots of free activities etc. It just happens to be Christmas too (slightly odd but I'm getting used to it). Anyway, I grew up in Ireland so anything less than 12 weeks seems miserly to me Grin
