To be peeved when things I buy are faulty?

3 things in the past few weeks that I have bought have been faulty or wrong. I bought a new toy from a website, the batteries which came with it leaked and now it doesn't work. Last week I bought some PJs from Asda for my labour bag only to find that while the top was 16-18 as stated on the hanger and the lable the trousers are size 20-22 and too big. Today I bought a small metal water bottle from a camping shop and the lid doesn't screw on properly.

The toy came from a website, I emailed them and they said I could send it back as long as it was all still in it's original packaging, unsed etc. Hmm. I wrote back and said if it was all in it's original packaging and unused then the batteries wouldn't have leaked and I wouldn't have a problem. Ok, they said, send it back, but I have to package it up, make sure I send a letter explaining why I am sending it back, go to the post office and pay for postage.

I also have to trek back to Asda, which is a trip I was hoping I wouldn't have to make again, especially since I am new to the area and last time the 2 mile journey home took me half an hour as I got lost.

And I have to find the time to go back into town to return the water bottle, despite the fact that I am 34 weeks pg and struggling to walk, work 4 days a week and when I am not working have a 3 year old in tow. I really don't have the time and inclination to go, but I can't afford to throw away money, so I will do it all, and I expect I will get my returns and my money back, but I'll get nothing for my bloody trouble will I?

AIBU to be pissed off as such a load of crap?

Grrr, I'm in the stressed and angry stage of pg at the moment as you can tell...

I remember good out Safeway used to have a 'refund and replace' policy so if you needed to take something back you would get the product back and a refund.

No you are definitely not BU

I tend to find that buying faulty stuff happens in 'clusters' too!! I'll buy a few things and they'll break or not work properly and I guess it puts me off spending any money on anything for a while.

I get annoyed too when you have to go back with faulty items at my own expense and you don't even get an apology from the shop.

It all sounds really irritating for you esp in your current situation...

YABU because if you have enough energy to be using toys at your stage of pregnancy then you have loads of energy to be returning things to the shop!!! GrinGrinGrin
