We have a nice big money tree in a pot, which in turn in placed inside a big square wooden pot.

DS loves to use it to stand up.

He is currently standing, holding onto the wooden edge with one hand, leaning in to the pot, and busying himself with the soil, reaching down to lift it up, turn it over, look at it, drop it, eat it, chattering away to himself.

He has been there for 10 mins.

DH would be like 'noooooooooo stop that!!!' and I am thinking oh why stop him, he is having fun. And DH is not here.

So, AIBU?

well it was only a teeny bit of soil which was consumed, most of it was spread across his moosh! He has progressed now anyway. He is now more interested in pulling the leaves of the dragon tree Grin. Green Fingers, has my boy Wink

He'll be fine. But then I am notoriously lax about my child doing stuff like eating off the floor/licking trolley handles/kissing worms. I say it's a psychological backlash against my Anthea Turner alike mother :)

yanbu.

My ds's frst attempt at drinking from a cup was water from the swimming pool which he scooped up - now that is full of chemicals Hmm

ChippingIn · 14/08/2010 22:20

mumbar - the chemicals in swimming pool water aren't exactly designed to be consumed, especially by babies - however, they are safe to drink - the stuff they put in potting mix isn't! blurghhh.

I made mean mud pies. I also made others to eat them. Including my poor Nanny.
We're all fine and in robust health.
