Every thursday while I am cooking the tea she comes to collect her money and she sticks her nose into the kitchen
"oooh that smells nice ,what are you making?"

It just pisses me off

Boil some tripe.

Mowiol · 12/08/2010 16:57

Yes - milk ladies have feelings too.

Lonnie · 12/08/2010 16:58

i think YABU She has to walk around getting money for the milk and likely is trying to be friendly and have a little chat so her day gets broken up. whats so hard about saying " Spag Bol" or oh just dinner?"

KurriKurri · 12/08/2010 16:59

That sounds completely reasonable to me (by the way what are you making? - it smells nice)

ExitPursuedByABear · 12/08/2010 17:00

Thinking of sacking our milkman as during the holidays his son helps with the round and he never shuts the bloody gate. They live on a farm ffs surely they should learn how to shut gates! The Grandad collects the money every month and he always stomps in to the kitchen in his dirty boots and announces, every bloody time, 'That's not a house dog' - referring to my georgeous and very happy and healthy springer spaniel. (The reason for the gate. Left a note in the bottle yesterday so this morning the milk was positioned right in the middle of the doorstep, ready to be kicked over. Grrrr.

meltedmarsbars · 12/08/2010 17:01

Having a bad day, EPBB?

Jasonthunderpants · 12/08/2010 17:03

She is not being friendly
When I see her about the village and I say hello she just ignores me. Infact she doesnt talk to anybody much when she is out and about

OP posts:
Jasonthunderpants · 12/08/2010 17:03

I think you shoud get rid, Jas. I had to stop getting my milk delivered. The weekly chats on the doorstep were getting a bit much to be honest. He was the spitting image of Robin Askwith(sp?) and I keep getting flashbacks to 'confessions of a window cleaner' and the like, when speaking to him. Not good.

Scaredofthedark · 12/08/2010 17:29

too posh for me!
me walk to shops if i need milk!
Then i get the 'chat' from the check out operator....so I don't know which is worse.....

Jasonthunderpants · 12/08/2010 17:34

I would rather get milk delivered, keeping the local farmers going and all that likewise buying meat from local butcher rather than from the supermarket

OP posts:
KatyMac · 12/08/2010 17:38

I want my milk delivered

I really waant my milk delivered

But they only deliver Tues, Thurs & Sat

I need milk on Mon am - so If I have to shop on Sun I may as well buy it

Sad
stealthpony · 12/08/2010 17:39

Next time say...

"nothing, I've just had a massive shit.."

BigBadMummy · 12/08/2010 17:39

Leave the money on the step.

Wish we could get milk delivered round here.

Yum to stew and dumplings. Be there about 7ish for it?

pjmama · 12/08/2010 17:42

pmsl @ stealth Grin

Scaredofthedark · 12/08/2010 17:48

sorry, i want my milk delivered but cant afford it so go for the cheaper healthier option on walking to go get it...

cupcakesandbunting · 12/08/2010 17:48

YANBU. That would piss me off too.

But then I acknowledge that I am irrational verging on unhinged. Certain peoples faces wind me up. They don't even have to do anything except have a face that I find disagreeable.

Jasonthunderpants · 12/08/2010 17:59

cupcake
I know what you mean.I used to work with a chap who had an annoying jumper, It was orange. I am sure he only put it on to annoy me

OP posts:
cupcakesandbunting · 12/08/2010 18:00

He probably did, you know.

Just like the woman who works in the greengrocers and looks just like David Thewliss does that irritating shop thing where they count your change backwards just to annoy me. She probably doesn't do it to anyone else.

Jasonthunderpants · 12/08/2010 18:06

sigh
people are just annoying

The most annoying thing I know of is a man I used to work with always poked you with his finger when he was talking to you. Many is the time I came close to punching him in the face

OP posts:
cupcakesandbunting · 12/08/2010 18:12

I used to work with a space invader. She used to think that standing with her nose four inches from yours was a necessity when holding a conversation. I used to step backwards away from her and she would follow. Repeat for an entire conversation and to a bystander it probably looked like we were ballroom dancing around the office.
