£55.16 bill for 18p worth of calls!

Just got my BT bill, I will break it down.

£10 for a direct debit not being honoured (no idea what happened there, we always call when we get bill and pay )
£17.62 reconnection charge (probably due to the funny direct debit)
£1.00 minimum calls fee (didn't make enough calls so have to pay £1)
£12.79 Line rental and calling plan
£1.49 friends and family mobile (??)
£2.59 calling features pack (???)
£7.99 Broadband (fair enough )
£1.50 payment processing fee
£0.18 phone usage

BT are bloody awful.

I now have virgin with better broadband, free calls to other virgin phones (inc mobile), phone and about a billion TV channels. It works out cheaper than BT.

BT stands for Bastard Twats.

I think coverage is about 50% of the population, and I do get a bit green with envy when I see what speeds some people get (I've been getting 160 kbps for some weeks, goes altogether when it rains...

8 years ago when I first got ADSL it was at 500 kbps, 18 months later it was 1000 kbps, and later went to 2 then 6-7 Mbps by end of 2006. How things change when you move and have to use a 6km long wire to a tiny exchange in the middle of nowhere. Cannot stream any video at all...
