IDS has the job of sorting out welfare. Is he the man for the job? Is anyone? As someone said we do need a change in culture. We also needlots of new jobs. any chance?

ASSIMILATE

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 16/08/2010 16:52

I suppose if you had a low enough opinion of journalists, then asking if you were one could be a personal attack...

"What are you, a JOURNALIST or something?"

GabbyLoggon · 16/08/2010 16:58

They are not my rules or yours Mumsnet run the sites

Why stick by the Coalition?

OP asks odd questions though, with, in this case, OP and thread title not even matching, so I think that is why people ask what the whole idea is and, in effect, what the OP wants from people.

I doubt he/she would have had the "are you a journalist?" question if it was clear that this is what he/she really believed. Currently, it looks like a wind-up to me. Not even a clever one at it.

Vallhala · 16/08/2010 17:00

Do you suffer from insecurity, Gabby?

expatinscotland · 16/08/2010 17:00

Why keep starting all these threads, Gabby?

Forgive the question but I get the impression English is not your native language. Is this so?

It might perhaps explain a bit.

PosieParker · 16/08/2010 17:02

There's nothing personal about your posts OP, ever. If I were to start a thread about DC and his threats to poor people I would probably write the bit about the article that made me think that, or how it may affect Majorie down the road.. Your OP is a collection of half sentences, and often says something a little 'jolly hockey sticks' like 'Come on ladies what do you think?'

Vallhala · 16/08/2010 17:06

Careful now Posie... Wink

There are plenty of journalists who are on MN because we are mothers and are here for our own amusement - not work - just like anyone else. I did a count once, years ago when MN was a lot smaller, and made it 24 but I'm sure there are many more.

Most of us, given we write for a living, can craft sentences that make sense. And - mostly - spell and punctuate (although not always as like anyone else we are type in a hurry, not in work mode).

I can't think of any journalists I know that would write the OP and I can't think why anyone would follow up the ST story in this way.

edam · 16/08/2010 17:13

Grin Spot the deliberate mistake there. Of course it was deliberate, honest guv, I didn't forget that I'd changed my mind about tense half way through a sentence at all...

TheCoalitionNeedsYou · 16/08/2010 17:14

Gabby just isn't nearly as good at writing as she thinks she is :(

(Nothing personal Gabby! xxx)

I read the title as "Cameron threatening poor people with Sunday Times" and clicked on it in the hope he'd been sighted, sweaty-quiffed, yelling "eff off, you oik, or I'll lamp you with me Style section. It's got a page devoted to manbags."

Sigh. Must clean glasses.

edam · 16/08/2010 18:18

Grin for Halib & Real

Thing1Thing2 · 16/08/2010 19:21

Missed the question.

What are you /are you not being reasonable about?

charlieandlola · 16/08/2010 19:30

I too read it as Cameron threatens poor with the Sunday Times.pmsl.

GabbyLoggon · 17/08/2010 16:07

Cameron is in Cornwall at the moment on holiday. Anybody spotted him?

GabbyLoggon · 17/08/2010 16:11

Van were you the F-word merchant; or was that someone else?

A free for all with F-words would not work on mumsnet.

what we do at home is our business.

What the outgoing labour government did with Future Jobs Fund and Community Task Force was revolutionary, innovative, and worked. It's now being removed by Cameron and his cronies.

ShirleyKnot · 17/08/2010 16:14

Fridge
Flower
Flights
Flouder
Founder
Fuck
Frisson
Fricassee

It's a total F-word Extravaganza on MN.

All day, every day

FallingWithStyle · 17/08/2010 16:16

I saw DC earlier.
He thwacked me - really bloody hard - with a rolled up paper. Right on my Kangol logo... it hurt Sad

tethersend · 17/08/2010 16:35

"Not a journo do a lot of writing."

Writing all over every available bit of wall at 3am whilst crying doesn't count, you know.

Shirley, I've reported your post. They told me to.

Are there any poor people in the Sunday Times?

ShirleyKnot · 17/08/2010 16:51

I did read an article about a lovely couple who were forced to shop in Sainsbury's while F & M was closed for refurb.

The degradation.

Anyway, enough of all that, I want to know what an F-Word merchant is. I keep imagining some kind of Spiv sidling up to the unsuspecting tube traveller, whispering "Wanna buy an F-Word? Got a special this week on "Fanny" or if you fancy something a bit stronger, I can give you two "Fuck-Knuckle's" for the price of one"
