The most beautiful woman in the world but really can she please not get her sh*t together and stay out of the headlines?
Throwing phones at her assistant, sending her lackeys out for drugs and now accepting diamonds in the middle of the night then lying about it (yes I know she admitted it now). It would be lovely if she could be in the headlines for the right reasons.

Crumpet - it's trying to prove he had access to and was using rough diamonds for various purposes, therefore it's not a big leap to think he was using them to buy arms.

crumpet · 06/08/2010 14:31

I have no problem in believeing that he actually did, but is a bit of a leap though to argue that a dictator handing a few out as presents (not sure if the prosection have identified any other recipients?) shows that he used them to make arms purchases.

Admittedly I have not follwed the trial but if this is a key plank for the prosecution case, it is odd.

Ugly on the inside this woman.

GetOrfMoiLand · 06/08/2010 14:39

Brilliant post greensleeves.

Absolutely right. She is physically beautiful, however her hideous personality is written all over her face and has obliterated the beauty.

Like a warped version of Dorian Gray.

Shame on her. The stupid, venal witch.

tribpot · 06/08/2010 14:45

The Daily Mash sums it up.

GetOrfMoiLand · 06/08/2010 14:49

lol at the Daily mash.

'I am so sorry that the people have a hard time picking the diamonds from trees'

Probably not that far from what she actually thinks, tbh.

Kathyjelly · 06/08/2010 14:51

I'm not sure she's done anything illegal has she? As irritating as it may be, she is a beautiful high-profile woman and I would imagine she gets presents from men all the time.

Whether she knew what kind of diamonds they were or not, is it illegal to receive them as a gift or is it illegal for her to bring them into the UK (or wherever they are)?

As far as I can see, she'sing see things only in $$, the day will come when she can't model anymore and she's accumulating assets for that rainy day.

It's not moral or admirable or nice but not terribly hard to understand. I don't doubt her intelligence for a moment.

I expect very little of Naomi C so her evidence did not surprise me, though I winced at her complaining a WAR CRIMES TRIAL was 'not convenient'. Gosh, sorry.

Bigger question-what was Nelson Mandela doing hobnobbing with the odious Charles Taylor?

I know Mandela's met Mugabe, but they're leaders of countries closely linked by geography, economics and immigration, so have to liaise over shared interests. Charles Taylor ought not to have been given house room. If I recall correctly, he asked for asylum in Ghana at one stage and was quite rightly told to bog off. No one should ever have legitimised him or his evil regime.
