To RSVP now?

Not sure which way this is going to go as I know that children's party RSVPs are a sore issue on here.

On the very last day of term (21 July), DD had an invite for a party on the 22 August. The party is at the local leisure centre so I'm assuming that numbers needed to be confirmed. The problem is that the invite said to RSVP by 23 July (giving only two days). Now I knew that I had the week prior to that off work and was unsure what my plans were (in that I was contemplating going up to my mother's house for the week). In hindsight (which is a wonderful thing ) I should have text to say something along those lines however you know how things are etc. Anyway, AIBU to RSVP now saying that DD would like to come? Purely because I have now made all arrangements and we will be around that weekend. (also, how would you word such a text - I have never met either of the child's parents so . . . . )

I would ring the parents and apologise for the delay and just tell them what you've written! Say your daughter would love to come to party but you understand that you may be too late .... 2 days isn't exactly a long time to let you respond anyway!

I would phone or text first and apologise for the late response, ask if the invite is still open or are numbers already decided, then take it from there.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that 2 days to RSVP was asking a bit much!

Two day RSVP for something that is one month away?

I would do as Megatron said.

sounds like she wanted answers before the school broke up for the hols, she should have sent the invites out earlier if she wanted resplies by then.
