Risk waking my DS up?

He needs his nappy changed. And a feed.

He is 10 weeks old and has a soggy nappy, needs to get into his sleepsuit etc etc.

Been asleep since about 9pm, and no signs of stirring.

Do I change him anyway? I feel mean doing it, but I really want to go to bed

What do you all think?

I'd wake him unless you want him to wake you at 3am because he's wet and hungry.

Change him. If he gets nappy rash it will be hell.

But awww, 10 weeks.

DidEinsteinsMum · 04/08/2010 00:45

personally i would see if i could get the nappy changed. I still do this to ds now and he is five (delayed dryness meds related). If he is wet when I go to check on him before i go to bed I change him.

Hope you get some sleep.

Yup, sorry, but it's gotta be done. He'll probably be dozy and fall back to sleep, perhaps after a feed too. Otherwise you'll have a babe with a wet, sore bum and a sleepless night!

But you knew that anyway!

It's a bugger when they are sound asleep and need a change though...

If he will be too fully awake due to changing him into a sleepsuit, I'd just change his nappy and leave him in whatever he's wearing as long as he's comfy and safe in it. Might save you both losing sleep tonight.

And congratulations!

Thank you! TBH, if I wake him now, although I will feel like a meanie, we should both get a bit more sleep tonight in the long run.

Just needed convincing that I wasn't being mean/selfish/lazy in my reasoning.

Unfortunately he needs to be in a sleepsuit as we sleep in a pretty cold room and DS likes to kick blankets off!
